Lee Child has written nearly 30 Jack Reacher novels, and Prime Video's Reacher is working through them — just not in order. Each season adapts one complete book as a standalone story, which is why you can jump in anywhere. Here's the full map, plus what's coming next.

The books adapted so far

  • Season 1 (2022) — Killing Floor — Child's very first novel, from 1997. Reacher drifts into Margrave, Georgia, gets arrested for murder, and discovers his brother Joe is tangled up in the case.
  • Season 2 (2023–24) — Bad Luck and Trouble — a big jump to book 11, from 2007. Someone is killing off members of Reacher's old 110th Special Investigations unit, so he gets the band back together, including Frances Neagley (Maria Sten).
  • Season 3 (2025 ) — Persuader — back to book 7, from 2003. Reacher goes undercover in the household of rug importer Zachary Beck and comes face to face with a ghost from his past he thought he'd killed.

The one that's next in line

Season 4 adapts Gone Tomorrow, the 13th book, published in 2009. The story kicks off with a chance encounter with a distraught stranger on a subway that goes horribly wrong, pulling Reacher into a conspiracy reaching the highest levels of power. The show relocates the action to Philadelphia — the premiere episode is literally titled "The City of Brotherly Love."

It arrives August 12, 2026, with three episodes at launch and weekly drops through the September 16 finale.

And after that?

The pipeline is stacked. Prime Video confirmed season 5 on May 11, 2026, and on July 25 released a photo of Alan Ritchson holding Make Me — Child's 20th novel, from 2015 — as a not-so-subtle hint at the next adaptation. There's also Neagley, a full spinoff starring Maria Sten as Reacher's former protégé turned Chicago private investigator. All eight of its episodes drop September 16, 2026 — the same day the season 4 finale lands.

Four books down, roughly 25 to go. Ritchson could be eating diner food and breaking arms well into the 2040s.
