Every Fan Theory Confirmed By The New Bridgerton S3 Trailer
We can't believe it's finally here.
The day we've been waiting for over two years has finally arrived, dear Bridgerton stans. The official Season 3 trailer is here and it is better than our wildest fantasies.
Honestly, seeing the beloved characters back on screen is so good, and the chemistry between Season 3 leads Penelope Featherington and Colin Bridgerton is so palpable, even in the two and a half minute clip, that we almost wish the trailer would be released a couple of weeks later. How are we supposed to wait a whole month for the premiere of Part 1, and twice as long for the debut of the season finale?
Well, the best way to cure the Bridgerton craving has always been sleuthing. So let's go into speculation mode. Especially since the trailer gives us plenty of opportunities to do so. In fact, it confirms a few theories that have been circulating in the Bridgerton fandom for months.
1. Francesca is the diamond of the season
This is a theory that comes directly from Julia Quinn's original novel series. In the books, Francesca is the only Bridgerton sister to become the season's Incomparable. And now it has been confirmed that this arc will be repeated on screen. Apparently, the young, popular debutante will serve as a contrast to Penelope, for whom 'notice is very slight.'
2. Colin is not a virgin... anymore
The question of whether the third Bridgerton will have some naughty experiences on his travels or remain a virgin for Penelope has long divided the fandom. Now, after Benedict's not-so-encrypted comment in the carriage, we can be sure that Colin did more than just travel in the months between Seasons 2 and 3. Well, maybe that is not such a bad thing, as with this training he will be able to take care of Pen's pleasure when the time comes.
3. Cressida is Eloise's new friend
Ever since the official synopsis of Season 3 dropped a line about Eloise finding 'a new friend in a very unlikely place,' fans have been speculating about who it could be. Some variations like Sophie Beckett and Phillip Crane were especially exciting for book fans. But sadly, we now know that the mysterious figure is none other than Cressida Cowper, Pen's old bully. To say we feel backstabbed is to say nothing. Could Eloise have made a worse choice of company?
4. Madame Delacroix is behind Pen's glow-up
Many fans were worried that Penelope's glow-up might be part of Colin's flirting lessons, which would be disturbing on so many levels. Fortunately, the trailer made sure that it is Genevieve Delacroix, Lady Whistledown's longtime ally, who will be guiding our main character through the world of fashion and helping her get a new wardrobe along with the new attitude towards the marriage market.
5. Violet's garden still in bloom
Bridgerton spinoff Queen Charlotte introduced an exciting new storyline for the Bridgerton matriarch. She suddenly found herself ready for a new relationship, and fans wondered if new cast member Daniel Francis, who plays the charismatic gentleman Marcus Anderson, was somehow connected to that arc. The official trailer confirms that this is indeed the case. The glance these two share just screams steamy.
6. The moonlight scene is a dream sequence
Well, this is not 100% confirmed, but everything points in that direction. In the trailer, we see Colin waking up in apparent distress, as if he has just had a life-changing epiphany. No doubt it's caused by a hot dream involving his best friend. Also, the moonlight scene at the end of the trailer has a lot of fog, much like Daphne's romantic dream with Simon in Season 1. So we can assume that the first hot scene between the Season 3 leads will take place in Colin's dream. Hopefully the real thing will follow shortly.
