Euphoria Season 3 Episode 3: When It Drops, Who’s Back, and What Happens Next
Critics may be cool on Euphoria season 3 — its Rotten Tomatoes score sits at 41 percent — but viewers can’t look away: it’s HBO Max’s top trending series and shows no sign of slowing down.
Critics might be giving Euphoria season 3 the side-eye (it ’s sitting at a 41 percent on Rotten Tomatoes), but that has not slowed anyone down. It’s the top trending show on HBO Max right now, and I don’t see that changing anytime soon. Like it or not, the Rue roller coaster still pulls a crowd.

Previously on Euphoria (season 3, episode 2)
Rue (Zendaya ) officially bailed on working for Laurie (Martha Kelly) and got scooped up by a new boss, Alamo Brown (Adewale Akinnuoye-Agbaje). He considers Rue’s switch a kind of repayment after he lost one of his dancers, Tish (Emma Kotos), to coke that was laced with fentanyl from Laurie. For the record, Laurie doesn’t know Faye (Chloe Cherry) was the one who made that very unfortunate mistake.
Alamo slots Rue into a behind-the-scenes job at one of his clubs, the Silver Slipper, where she ends up acting like the manager’s right hand — wrangling dancers and, in one case, hooking up with Angel (Priscilla Delgado). Angel starts asking questions about why her best friend Tish suddenly isn’t around, which is… not great for Rue’s new situation.
Meanwhile, Maddy (Alexa Demie) dabbles in managing an aspiring influencer and pushes it too far, earning heat from her boss at the talent agency. Cassie (Sydney Sweeney ) notices how sharp Maddy is at the social media game and makes peace with her — not out of love, but because Cassie wants that clout. Maddy, ever the strategist, uses the olive branch to put Cassie squarely under her thumb.
Over at the Jacobs house, Nate (Jacob Elordi) and Cal (Eric Dane) butt heads about the family ’s shaky finances. And Rue finally reconnects with Jules (Hunter Schafer), who’s now living in a high-end condo courtesy of a very wealthy benefactor — a setup Rue clocks immediately and does not love.
What episode 3 looks like
All signs point to Cassie and Nate’s wedding being the main event, and it looks as messy as you’d expect. Suze (Alanna Ubach) is back, and the usual suspects — Jules, Rue, Maddy, and Lexi — are in the pews. Nate’s family shows up too, and they don’t exactly radiate confidence about this union, especially Cal.
Outside the bouquet toss, Rue gets pulled deeper into Alamo’s operation. Guns are suddenly part of the conversation, and there’s a face-to-face at Laurie’s place that feels like a very bad idea for everyone involved. We also get a peek at how Jules is navigating life with that much older benefactor.
