Bridgerton S3 Countdown: Ranking Sexy Moments From Polin Book, From Warm To Scorching
Which one are you looking forward to the most?
All the cast members of Bridgerton, led by Season 3 stars Nicola Coughlan and Luke Newton, unanimously tease that the new chapter, which lands on Netflix in two parts on May 16 and June 13, will be extremely romantic and steamy.
Apparently, the PG version of the story of Penelope Featherington and Colin Bridgerton, aka Polin, is much shorter than the uncut one. All because of the bodice-ripping scenes.
Since the new installment is based on Julia Quinn's novel Romancing Mister Bridgerton, we can expect the Polin relationship to develop roughly as it did on paper, including the intimate life of the leads. But how many sexy scenes are there? Let's do a head count and rank them in order of hotness.
Warm: First Kiss
This is definitely the most innocent of all the spicy scenes in the original novel. The friends are hanging out, and Pen, who is a 28-year-old spinster in the book, decides to take the plunge and ask Colin for a kiss. Surprisingly, he agrees.
Penelope thinks it's the first and last kiss of her life, but little does she know that the lip-to-lip contact has hit Colin like a bolt out of the blue. He finds himself loving every second of it and realizes he's seriously into Pen. After that, his thoughts about her take a whole new turn.
Hot: Mirror
This is probably the scene that fans have been waiting for the most. In short, it is about enjoying a lovemaking session in front of a mirror so that Penelope can see how desirable she really is. The actors and promo materials all hint that this moment will find its place on screen, and we are here for it.
However, in Quinn's novel, this is not a full-fledged scene, but only a suggestion made by Colin in a fit of passion (the hungry boy likes to talk dirty). So for now, it takes fourth place in our ranking.
Boiling: Engagement Party
Romancing Mister Bridgerton is filled with charged vibes and simmering tension, but there is only one scene where Polin go all the way. It happens in the middle of their own engagement party. The lovebirds are so impatient to be together that they sneak away from the crowd and share some pleasant private time full of oh-so-sensual details and heartfelt confessions.
This scene is a perfect basis for a climactic moment in the show, when the leads finally consummate all the tension that has been flying between them.
Sizzling: Violet's Drawing Room
The lovemaking is tantalizing, but in the book, it's the buildup that really gets you going. Of all the steamy make-out sessions between Polin in the book, this is reportedly Coughlan's personal favorite.
Polin have already given in to their feelings and are alone on Lady Violet's sofa, getting cozy. Colin can't keep his hands off Pen, but he's careful not to go too far and risk getting caught. Instead, he pours out his desire for her in words, and let us tell you, it's hotter than any actual action could be.
Scorching: Carriage
The scene that deservedly takes the top spot on our list is the ultimate game-changer in the Polin storyline: the carriage moment. Colin tracks down Penelope at her publisher's and realizes she's the mysterious Lady Whistledown. Cue the heated argument in the carriage, sparking the steamiest moment in the entire novel, with loads of kissing and sexual teasing.
Seriously, you can't think of Polin without this scene - it's that iconic. The showrunners will definitely have to be especially mindful of fan expectations when adapting it for the show.
