Brandi Glanville Makes Bold Bid For Golden Bachelorette — Touts A Clean Slate
Back to full strength, Brandi Glanville, 53, is pitching herself on X to be the next Golden Bachelorette, declaring she’s ready to embrace her age and take the lead.
Brandi Glanville has a new idea for her next TV chapter: hand her the roses and let her be the Golden Bachelorette. And yes, she said it out loud right as ABC slammed the brakes on Taylor Frankie Paul’s Bachelorette season after disturbing old footage came to light. The timing is... not subtle.
Brandi shoots her shot
On Monday, March 30, the 53-year-old Real Housewives alum hopped on X and volunteered as tribute. She even tossed in a little shade while name-checking Taylor Frankie Paul from The Secret Lives of Mormon Wives. That name salad is her words, not mine:
"OK guys if Frankie John Peter Taylor Paul Joseph Jimmy can be the bachelorette now that I’m all better I think it’s time for me to embrace my age & become the golden bachelorette.
I have no rap sheet & no domestic violence charges (just a lot of un flattering pictures on Google) LOL."
The Taylor Frankie Paul fallout, in short
- On March 19, Disney Entertainment Television told Us Weekly it would not move forward with The Bachelorette season 22 starring Taylor Frankie Paul after a newly circulated video from a 2023 incident involving Taylor and her ex, Dakota Mortensen, surfaced. The company said its focus is on supporting the family.
- Taylor’s spokesperson said she is grateful for ABC’s support while she prioritizes her family’s safety and security. For context: Taylor shares daughter Indy, 8, and son Ocean, 5, with ex-husband Tate Paul, and son Ever, 2, with Dakota.
- In a longer statement, Taylor’s side alleged she endured years of mental and physical abuse and threats of retaliation, and said she is taking steps to protect herself and her children, exploring her options, and preparing to tell her story.
- Dakota responded separately, calling the situation deeply upsetting, categorically denying what he called baseless claims, and saying he is focused on their son’s safety.
- According to court documents cited by Us Weekly, Dakota has been granted a temporary protective order against Taylor and temporary custody of their son.
- Days later, NBC News reported that the West Jordan Police Department in Utah is reviewing claims Dakota made about an alleged 2024 domestic dispute with Taylor. He contacted authorities last month, per the report. Police said they are reviewing related video and declined further detail due to the ongoing investigation.
- Meanwhile, the official Bachelor podcast said it would interview the men who were cast for Taylor’s canceled season.
So... Golden Bachelorette next?
Brandi’s pitch is pretty straightforward: she is healthy, she is age-appropriate for the Golden franchise, and her record is clean, if you do not count some unflattering Google Images. ABC has not said a word about her or who might lead the next golden installment, but after the Bachelorette shake-up, do not be surprised if a few familiar names try to slide into that spot.
