Below Deck Guests Consider a Risqué Gift for Captain Jason Chambers — and the Crew Is Blushing
Below Deck Down Under captain Jason Chambers just got the wildest tip of the season: charter guests debated leaving a sex toy behind, then switched it out for a surprise he never saw coming.
Well, that escalated quickly. On the Monday, April 20 episode of Bravo's Below Deck Down Under, Captain Jason Chambers got the strangest parting gift I think I have ever seen on this franchise — and that bar is already pretty high.
The gift that was not supposed to be a gift
The charter guests joked about leaving Jason, 41, a "c*** ring" along with their tip. Instead, they snuck something even more chaotic into his cabin: a silicone breastplate from their drag night. Jason was equal parts shocked and delighted, threw it on after the guests left, and even posed for photos once the charter wrapped. The group could be high maintenance and kept the crew sprinting with requests, but the overall trip landed as a bigger win than some earlier charters this season.
Where the season stands
Season 4 premiered in February and has Jason back at the helm of the Katina in the Caribbean with some very familiar Bravo faces — the kind of crossover casting diehards notice immediately. Chef Ben Robinson, chief stew Daisy Kelliher, and João Franco are all aboard.
- Alesia returned as sous chef.
- New to the interior: stews Joe Caron and Jenna Woudberg.
- Mike Durrant is pulling double duty as deck/stew.
- On deck: Eddy Hounsell and Betul Yazici.
- Midseason shuffle: Alesia moved to the interior while Ellie Dubaich stepped in as a galley hand.
Why this run feels tense (and different)
Jason told Us in February that this stretch was tough on everyone. In his read, Daisy arrived with something to prove while joining a new branch of the franchise, especially after a rough season on Sailing Yacht where she took heat for not laying down the law with certain crew. João, who has captained before, parked his ego to jump back on deck and support Jason. And Ben? He has been off doing his own thing running a business, then — after a breakup — packed his knives and flew in on just 12 hours' notice. The vibe onboard was tight because everyone was carrying their own personal storyline into the job.
'We were all in a personal challenge going into it.'
He also says the drama this time is less about petty bickering and more about real personality clashes and work-related friction that actually affect the boat. Working in those cramped quarters makes it raw, and it is not confined to the heads of department — it runs through the entire team. Jason adds that he is watching it unfold with the audience, which should tell you how unpredictable it got.
