There are 13 shows left on Ariana Grande ’s Eternal Sunshine Tour — a final stop in Chicago before a 10-night London residency — with the run scheduled to wrap on September 1. After that London finale, her team told People she plans to step back from public-facing work and appearances.
Grande’s representative said she wants to finish the tour on a “high note” and then take a well-earned breather following months of intense attention, while adding that the tour has been a deeply rewarding stretch and that she’s cherished performing for fans night after night.
That pause comes as online chatter about her appearance kept bubbling throughout the year — lingering from the Wicked press cycle and spiking again around the release of her “Petal” music video — even as the shows drew praise for her vocals and staging.
She performs healthily and successfully at a very high level night after night.
A source close to Grande shared that assessment with People, noting the athletic demands built into the production.
West End exit
In line with the plan to dial back public commitments, Grande has stepped away from the West End revival of Stephen Sondheim’s Sunday in the Park with George, where she had been set to play Dot/Marie opposite her Wicked co-star Jonathan Bailey. The production will continue with a replacement to be announced, and a source says Grande still looks forward to seeing the staging come together.
The Eternal Sunshine Tour concludes in London on September 1.
