Ariana Grande explains why setting firm personal boundaries became essential before she stepped away from the spotlight for herself — but what pushed her to draw the line?

Midway through her Eternal Sunshine Tour stop in Chicago, Ariana Grande pressed pause on the spectacle and spoke directly to the crowd about what comes next for her — which, for a while, is less.

“Boundaries, they need to be set. Human beings can need a break sometimes,”

The moment, captured in a fan video shared on X, came as conversation around her public visibility has been heating up. A representative said a day earlier that Grande plans to step back from the spotlight once the tour wraps, citing intense scrutiny around her appearance.

“And also, this can be and will continue to be the greatest experience of my professional and creative life,”

she added from the stage, stressing that drawing a line for her mental health doesn’t mean she’s not savoring the tour itself.

Awards track

Even as she plans some quiet time after the road, her awards momentum keeps building. Grande is credited among the principal performers on Wicked: One Wonderful Night, which earned an Emmy nomination for Outstanding Variety Special. She also already has multiple Grammy wins to her name — putting her one step closer to that rare EGOT conversation if future projects add more hardware in other categories.

For now, Grande’s plan is simple: finish the tour, then step back from public visibility for a bit, her rep said.
