Timothy Busfield has been cut from the upcoming Amazon MGM movie 'You Deserve Each Other' after facing serious child sex abuse allegations and turning himself in to authorities.

Veteran actor Timothy Busfield has been removed from the cast of an upcoming Amazon MGM feature following allegations of child sexual abuse. The 68-year-old, known for his roles in acclaimed television dramas, will no longer appear in You Deserve Each Other, a film that also stars Penn Badgley, Meghann Fahy, and Kyle MacLachlan. The movie is scheduled for release in 2026.

Busfield’s removal comes after an arrest warrant was issued in his name. In addition to being cut from the film, an episode of Law & Order: Special Victims Unit featuring Busfield, which was set to air on January 22, has been pulled from the network’s lineup.

Allegations and Legal Action

Last week, Busfield surrendered to law enforcement in Albuquerque after a multi-day search. He is facing two counts of criminal sexual contact with a minor and an additional charge of child abuse, all tied to alleged incidents on the set of The Cleaning Lady. The warrant for his arrest was issued on January 9.

The investigation began in November 2024, when staff at the University of New Mexico Hospital reported concerns to police about possible grooming of children on the set of the Fox crime series. Authorities allege that Busfield sexually abused two boys, both now 11 years old, whom he reportedly met while directing the show.

Busfield’s Response

The actor, who is also recognized for his work on The West Wing, has strongly denied all accusations. In a video statement obtained by TMZ, Busfield said,

I got the call Friday night, I had to get a lawyer. Saturday I got in the car, drove 2,000 miles to Albuquerque. I’m gonna confront these lies. They’re horrible.

He continued,

They’re all lies and I did not do anything to those little boys and I’m gonna fight it. I’m gonna fight it with a great team, and I’m gonna be exonerated, I know I am, because this is all so wrong and all lies.
