Adam Brody shares cheeky Leighton Meester marriage detail: "Farting’s never been a big issue"
Adam Brody says there’s a hard line in married life with Leighton Meester they won’t cross—and his costars couldn’t believe it.
On the October 26 episode of Armchair Expert, Adam Brody sat down with Kristen Bell, Justine Lupe and Timothy Simons and wound up talking about the one line he and wife Leighton Meester don’t cross at home. Married since 2014 and parents of two, the pair still avoid passing gas in front of each other — a boundary that surprised their hosts.
“I have other bad habits, but farting's never been a big issue for me,” Brody said. “Not to brag.”
Bell and Dax Shepard admitted they’re the opposite, laughing that nothing in the noise department is off-limits in their house. The contrast turned the chat into an unexpectedly candid (and very funny) couples’ roundtable about what changes — and what doesn’t — after years together.
Lupe chimed in that her own “don’t do that around each other” rule eased up after she and her husband had kids, calling it an “evolution.” Brody also shared that his proposal to Meester was intentionally low-key — “very pedestrian,” as he put it — with the only romantic flourish being how quickly he asked.
On-screen, they’re moving in
The conversation dovetails neatly with where Brody and Bell’s characters are headed in Nobody Wants This Season 3. The romantic comedy ’s new season arrived on Netflix on October 22, with all 10 episodes now streaming, and this time Noah and Joanne take the plunge and move in together.

Set around Noah, a rabbi, and Joanne, a podcast host, the show sends them through first-time domestic hurdles — merging routines, sharing space, and dealing with very involved families — while they figure out what long-term looks like for them.
