June is here, and of course a new month means new high-octane releases on all sorts of streaming platforms. If you haven't renewed your Max subscription this month, we highly recommend that you do so. You won't regret it, as about 40 movies and shows were added to the service on the first day of June alone, bringing the total number of new releases for the month to more than 70!

From classic comedies and rom-coms to not-so-trivial A24 projects, from the debut of new shows to the premiere of new seasons of HBO's flagship projects. Stock up on your popcorn, folks, because today we present all the anticipated (and already released) movies and shows on Max for June 2024.

Don't Miss out on These 5 Additions to Max

Yikes, more than 70 new movies and TV shows can be a little overwhelming for anyone trying to decide what to binge on for the evening! Luckily, we've decided to put together a list of five new releases that Max subscribers should definitely check out.

Minari — The critically acclaimed drama film directed and written by Lee Isaac Chung Minari and starring Steven Yeun, Han Ye-ri, Alan Kim, Noel Kate Cho, Youn Yuh-jung and Will Patton is now available for streaming on Max. It is an incredibly sensitive and heartbreaking semi-autobiographical drama that tells the story of a South Korean immigrant family's experience in the United States in the 1980s and their attempts to succeed while maintaining their identity.

Problemista — Minari isn't the only A24 project coming to Max in June 2024. On June 28, for example, a surreal comedy written by Julio Torres will land on the service. The story follows a toy designer from El Salvador who dreams of living and succeeding in New York City before his visa expires.

Fantasmas — It's another Julio Torres project, this time a series in which the Salvadoran-American actor and filmmaker plays a fictionalized version of himself. It is a surreal comedy in which Torres travels all over New York City in search of a lost golden oyster earring and accidentally meets celebrities like Emma Stone, Steve Buscemi, Paul Dano and others.

Ren Faire — On June 2, Max released Ren Faire, a new documentary by Lance Oppenheim that will impress you with its eccentric cinematography and equally eccentric characters. The documentary follows the insane power struggle at nowhere else but the Texas Renaissance Festival after its founder announced his retirement.

House of the Dragon, Season 2 — This may seem like an obvious choice, but we couldn't help but mention it, as the show that premiered 2 years ago has proven to be a more than worthy replacement for Game of Thrones — this is due to the fact that George R. R. Martin is much more involved with the project than he was with the last few seasons of GoT. And now the first episode of Season 2 will be released next week, bringing the events of the Targaryen civil war, known as the Dance of the Dragons, closer to escalation after the deaths of Lucerys and Arrax. The new season consists of 8 episodes and will be released weekly.
