Many of us hope for renewals, but prepare for these shows to be axed.

When it comes to Netflix series, only the strong survive. There have been more cancellations than we can count, and while we have no confirmation that these shows have been canceled, the longer we wait, the more likely it seems.

Dead Boy Detectives - Season 2

This supernatural mystery show is in danger of becoming a distant memory for fans after just one season.

With the success of Wednesday, many believed that the young adult mystery fantasy genre would be revived. However, despite a 7.6/10 on IMDb and over 11k reviews, this paranormal series seems to be facing the same fate as Lockwood & Co. With a 61% drop in viewership after its third week, Dead Boy Detectives may have to move on to the Netflix afterlife, as cancellation seems very likely.

Neon - Season 1

With just under 400 reviews on IMDb and only 17 on RottenTomatoes, it's safe to say that Neon's future does not look bright.

With music at its core, this comedy-drama follows three friends who leave their small town to pursue their reggae dreams in Miami. Neon provides plenty of laughs along with a culturally immersive portrayal of reggaeton, but what started out as a promising series seems to have fallen short for its small fan base, earning a 5.1/10 on IMDb from those who have watched it.

Girls5eva - Season 4

The first two seasons of the show aired on Peacock before being picked up and revived by Netflix for Season 3. Here's where things get interesting, though; the biggest problem with Girls5eva is that the musical sitcom has never cracked Netflix's global top 10, let alone spent more than a single day in the regional top 10, yet it has phenomenal reviews.

On RottenTomatoes, seasons 1, 2 and 3 have received 98%, 95% and 100% approval from critics. Much like the main characters, Girls5eva is still hoping for their big break and waiting for the green light from Netflix.

God's Favorite Idiot - Season 2

Starring comedy legend Melissa McCarthy alongside her real-life husband Ben Falcone, God's Favorite Idiot quickly became a Netflix favorite, drawing fans in with its humor, endearing story, and battle to save the world from a demonic invasion.

Originally slated for 16 episodes, production on Season 1 was halted after only 8 episodes. There were promises that the remaining episodes would be filmed later, but that was 2 years ago. With a lack of commitment from the production, a dismal 33% critical rating on RottenTomatoes, and some financial disputes, those praying for a second season may be out of luck.

Russian Doll - Season 33

This mind-bending mystery drama follows a young woman trapped in an endless loop, living the same night over and over, and dying at the end. With a 97% rating on RottenTomatoes for each of its first two seasons, Russian Doll won an Emmy and was one of Netflix's most successful shows at the time. This makes it all the more puzzling that it landed on our list.

When it comes to renewal or cancellation, Russian Doll creator Leslye Headland is as much in the dark as the fans. In an interview last month, she revealed that she had not heard anything from Netflix regarding a Season 3 renewal, but believes it is possible, just maybe not right now, as the show's star is currently working on Poker Face.

Skull Island - Season 2

Stepping into the world of animation, Netflix's monstrous Skull Island gives us a slew of terrifying creatures as fans follow a group of explorers shipwrecked in the Pacific Ocean.

The series, which focuses on an animated version of the giant ape 'Kong', had a well-received first season, earning 82% on RottenTomatoes. The only news we've heard is that the show's second season is already written, but that doesn't mean the roaring Kong won't be quietly canceled by Netflix.

Good Times - Season 2

Despite its name, this show has had anything but a good time. The attempted revival of the 1974 series, which followed an African-American family trying to survive in the Chicago housing projects, was called degrading and offensive.

With an 11% rating on RottenTomatoes, the show came under fire from critics for using the name of the original show for ratings and for its blatant stereotyping. Of all the titles on this list, we can almost say with certainty that this one will not be getting another season.
