6 Most Anticipated Upcoming MCU TV Shows Except for Agatha All Along
Ever thought you'd see zombie versions of Captain America and Scarlet Witch?
On September 18, the Disney+ platform will launch the fantasy miniseries Agatha All Along, a WandaVision spin-off dedicated to the witch Agatha, played by Emmy winner Kathryn Hahn.
However, this is not the only Marvel streaming project expected to be released soon.
1. Eyes of Wakanda
Release Date: 2024
In February 2021, Black Panther director Ryan Coogler signed a multi-year television deal with Proximity Media and Walt Street Television to expand the Wakanda universe. Coogler is developing an animated series about the mysterious warriors and a feature-length prequel about Black Panther's bodyguard, Okoye.
The first, called Eyes of Wakanda, is expected to be released in late 2024, while the second is still in pre-production. One of the key characters in the animated series will be Okoye, shown in a younger version long before she meets T'Challa.
2. Daredevil: Born Again
Release Date: March 2025
In March 2025, Daredevil: Born Again will reunite actors Charlie Cox and Vincent D'Onofrio, who will return to the roles of Matt Murdock and Kingpin Wilson Fisk, respectively.
The new Marvel series will not be a reboot, but a continuation of the Netflix hit of the same name, which was canceled after three seasons. The cancellation of Netflix superhero series, which included not only Daredevil, but also Jessica Jones, Luke Cage and Iron Fist, was associated with the transfer of official rights to the characters to Marvel producers.
The studio, led by Kevin Feige, simply did not understand what to do with them. Eventually, with the help of numerous cameos by Cox, Daredevil was officially integrated into the MCU media franchise.
3. Ironheart
Release Date: September 3, 2025
Ironheart is another Marvel streaming project directly tied to the lore of Wakanda. The main character of the series is the brilliant inventor Riri Williams, who made her debut in Black Panther: Wakanda Forever.
For those who have not seen the movie, it is worth noting that Riri has no superpowers: as a talented scientist, she invents improved iron armor similar to that used by Tony Stark. In fact, Williams came to the MCU to replace the late Iron Man.
The supernatural part of Ironheart will be handled by the villain Parker Robbins, aka The Hood, who can levitate and become invisible. The main plot of the series will focus on countering magic and technology.
4. Marvel Zombies
Release Date: TBA
One of Marvel's most controversial animated projects, What If...? has expanded into a full-fledged spin-off called Marvel Zombies, which grew out of the plot of the fifth episode of the show's first season.
Marvel Zombies is also based on the Marvel Comics series of the same name and takes place in an alternate version of the MCU, where a zombie apocalypse has occurred: most of the famous superheroes have turned into the living dead, and a small group of survivors tries to find a cure for the deadly epidemic.
Marvel Zombies will consist of four episodes, each written by Zeb Wells, co-writer of The Marvels and Deadpool & Wolverine. Marvel Zombies was originally slated for a mid-2024 release, but was pushed back to another unknown date for undisclosed reasons.
5. Wonder Man
Release Date: TBA
After the success of Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings, director Destin Daniel Cretton, like Ryan Coogler, signed a multi-year deal with Marvel Studios to continue developing the Shang-Chi universe. The first announced project is called Wonder Man and will star Yahya Abdul-Mateen II.
Wonder Man revolves around actor Simon Williams, who was given superpowers after being exposed to a deadly charge of ion radiation. In addition to Simon, the series will feature Ben Kingsley's character, Mandarin, who becomes the link between the Shang-Chi and Wonder Man storylines.
Filming for the series began long before the Hollywood strike, but was not completed until April 2024. A release date for the series has not yet been set.
6. Vision Quest
Release Date: TBA
Agatha All Along is not the only spin-off of WandaVision. In late 2022, Marvel announced the development of Vision Quest with Paul Bettany as the new, White Vision, who debuted as a character in the fourth phase of the MCU.
White Vision is a restored version of the body of the original Vision, most of whose memories are lost. Little is known about the future series: we might see the appearance of Scarlet Witch, whose storyline ended in Doctor Strange in the Universe of Madness.
