5 Characters The Boys Fans Fear Might Not Survive Season 4
The purge before the final season has begun.
Fans of The Boys have long noticed that for such a gory and violent show, the creators are in no hurry to kill off core characters. In fact, it has become a major point of criticism in various fan discussions that Eric Kripke and his team introduce new characters each season with the sole purpose of getting them to die shocking deaths in a few episodes.
However, now that the upcoming fifth season is confirmed to be the last and probably the bloodiest, the creators no longer need to save the established cast for future storylines. Now, everything is being set up for the last big confrontation between Butcher and Homelander.
And that means that some characters who are not supposed to be part of that confrontation will die in the near future. We've already said goodbye to Todd, Anika, Ezekiel and Hugh Campbell Sr. Here are five more characters fans expect to lose in Season 4.
Sister Sage
Sister Sage may be the smartest person on the planet, but she's exactly the kind of character that The Boys doesn't keep around for long. She and Firecracker have only been introduced this season and are both prime candidates to become Supe meat.
However, it is Sage who is playing a dangerous game on the Homelander's nerves. Even though the Seven leader says he is not bothered by her intelligence, he really is. So lasering her skull feels like the next step for our sociopathic Supe. Unless Sage has a genius backup plan.
Black Noir 2
The chatty Supe actor in the Black Noir costume is a hilarious addition to Season 4. But he doesn't seem like an important player in the upcoming big battle. Besides, he can't stop talking, and that means Homelander is one burst of irritation away from ripping his heart out.
A-Train
This would be a truly mind-blowing development, but A-Train's whole arc this season screams redemption and biting the dust. He's already earned Hughie's forgiveness, and now it's only his brother's approval that keeps him on the show. The Supe will probably end up dying a martyr's death to prove to his family that he was a good man (and had real saves).
Ashley
Another jaw-dropping death could be Ashley's. The girl boss is getting better and better every season, so it would be a real shame to lose her, but in the final battle between the Seven and the Boys, she doesn't really have much to contribute. Besides, she's already abandoned her self-preservation instinct when she came to Homelander's apartment to take a dump in his toilet.
Ambrosius the Octopus
Now, we love Sage, Not-Noir, A-Train and Ashley, but this death would be truly devastating. The Deep's octopus mistress with her magical Tilda Swinton voice is the jewel of Season 4. Her forbidden romance with the Deep is both hilarious and heartwarming. It would be nice if they could swim out to sea together and live happily ever after.
But this is The Boys, so the Deep will probably kill Ambrosius at some point, whether to hide her existence or on Homelander's orders.
The Boys Season 4 Episode 6 premieres July 4 on Prime Video, with two more episodes to follow on Thursdays through July 18.
