Love, hate, betrayal and passion.

Tell Me Lies Season 2 recently wrapped, a series about college friends and lovers who are always hiding something from each other.

If you miss the intense love stories within the walls of private schools or universities, these five projects are for you.

1. Maxton Hall: The World Between Us, 2024-...

At Maxton Hall, it doesn't matter how well you do in school. What matters is how fashionable and expensive your clothes are, who you hang out with, and who you date. A girl from an ordinary family, Ruby Bell, doesn't fit in with the rich students. She is focused on the main goal of her life – getting into Oxford.

Ruby is especially annoyed by people like James Beaufort and his sister. They're insanely rich and beautiful, and they don't have to study hard to get into a prestigious university. A chain of coincidental events reveals an embarrassing secret, and Beaufort is determined to hide it at all costs.

2. Through My Window, 2022

Based on the novel of the same name by Ariana Godoy, the movie revolves around a teenage girl named Raquel. She is in love with her neighbor Ares, the son of the country's biggest tycoon. The girl's obsession goes beyond a teenage hobby: she collects all kinds of information from the Internet, saves photos and writes stories dedicated to the man she desires.

Unexpectedly for Raquel, Ares enters her life and begins to take an interest in his stalker. From hacking a router to casual sexual encounters, the love story of two teenagers from different worlds flares up.

3. Three Steps Above Heaven, 2010

A romantic love story between a hardworking Catalan schoolgirl and a notorious bad boy on a motorcycle. The plot is based on a best-selling book by Italian writer Federico Moccia – there is also a movie of the same name, shot in Italy, but less popular.

The acquaintance of Hache and Babi can hardly be called love at first sight, and their further relationship – a story that a psychologist would approve of, but it is the dynamics of feelings that attract many viewers.

4. Cruel Intentions, 1999

The movie was so popular at the time that a young Ryan Phillippe and a rising star, Reese Witherspoon, became instantly famous around the world. Twenty years later, this adaptation of the French novel may seem overly sentimental, but that aspect only adds color to the film's already intense action.

Kathryn and Sebastian, bored with their privileged lives, deliberately darken the existence of everyone around them. When Annette appears in their close circle, the main characters see her as their new victim, but this time their intuition fails them, turning them from predators into victims of their own games.

5. After, 2019

Movies based on fanfiction are increasingly capturing the hearts of audiences. The novel of the same name, After, was inspired by the story of the musical group One Direction, but soon grew into a standalone work and even made it to the big screen in the form of a film adaptation.

Jenny Gage's movie shows how a fleeting, causeless love grows into an unquenchable passion. Yes, After is a naive movie about teenage love, but even the seemingly infantile characters are hard not to sympathize with. The topic of a relationship with a tyrant ends tragically, and for this reason alone, the ending of the movie is very exciting.
