From the classic Twilight Zone to the modern Westworld.

The biggest sci-fi hit on the small screen right now is the second season of Severance. But you have to wait a whole week for each new episode, so we suggest you fill that time with other great sci-fi projects.

1. The Twilight Zone, 1959-1964

The classic anthology was created by screenwriter Rod Serling. In stories dedicated to aliens and all sorts of fantastic phenomena, he raised many serious social issues, acting as a narrator at the beginning and end of the episode.

The original series ran for five seasons, during which time more than 150 episodes were released, and then the project was rebooted three times.

2. Westworld, 2016-2022

In the Westworld theme park, visitors can immerse themselves in an atmosphere of adventure. And they are helped by specially designed androids that look indistinguishable from humans.

The robots' memories are regularly erased so that they can live the same cycle over and over again. But the system fails, with dangerous consequences.

3. Dark, 2017-2020

The German Netflix show is set in a small town near a nuclear power plant. The disappearance of two children sets off a series of fantastic events, with four families at the center of it all.

At first, many considered Dark to be a gloomier version of Stranger Things. Yes, the premises of both stories are similar. But gradually, the plot of the German series became much more complex, as the action unfolds in the past, present and future, and different timelines influence each other in completely unexpected ways.

4. The Expanse, 2015-2022

In the future, humanity has conquered space and settled throughout the solar system. Private detective Joe Miller investigates the disappearance of a young woman and ends up aboard a spaceship.

The ship's captain wants to help him, but gradually the crime story turns into the uncovering of a large-scale conspiracy linked to revolutionaries.

The adaptation of the book series by James Corey became one of the most impressive premieres of the SyFy channel. But after three seasons, the management decided to cancel the project. Then the fans created a petition to save The Expanse and even rented a plane with a huge banner that flew near the windows of Amazon.

5. Sense8, 2015-2018

Eight people living completely different lives in different parts of the world suddenly discover that they are emotionally connected. A powerful person tries to bring them together, but at the same time they are hunted by those who see them as a threat.

The famous Lana and Lilly Wachowski, who made The Matrix, are behind the creation of this Netflix series. The project successfully released two seasons, and after its cancellation, fans organized a whole campaign in support of Sense8. It was then decided to shoot an additional two-hour finale.
