3 Can't-Miss Live-Action Series for KPop Demon Hunters Fans
KPop Demon Hunters exploded into a global phenomenon after its 2025 debut, and Netflix’s movie only heightens the craving — but with KPop Demon Hunters 2 still a long way off, here’s how to fill the wait.
KPop Demon Hunters exploded out of the gate with its 2025 Netflix debut and went global fast. If you loved it and are already itching for more, same. The bad news: the sequel is not landing anytime soon. The good news: there are a few live-action shows that hit similar notes while you wait. Nothing nails the exact K-pop-meets-demons cocktail, but you can absolutely chase the vibe.
Quick note before we get to the list: if you want to stay in animation, you have options. There are plenty of action-heavy anime and even some musical- leaning picks that echo parts of the movie. But finding live-action that clicks with KPop Demon Hunters is tougher, so that is what I am focusing on here.

Buffy the Vampire Slayer (1997)
If you are after the show-demons-by-night, deal-with-life-by-day balance, Buffy delivers. The 1997 fantasy series was ahead of its time about letting women be unapologetically powerful, which lines up with what makes KPop Demon Hunters pop. You get a heroine juggling two worlds (think Rumi, just with wooden stakes), messy feelings, and friendships that actually lift women up. It even swings for the fences with a full-blown musical episode, 'Once More, With Feeling.' Heads-up: a few of the effects show their age, but the storytelling still lands. If you somehow missed it, it is worth the dive.

Shadowhunters (Freeform)
Adapted from Cassandra Clare's books, this one mixes demon hunting, secrets, and romance with a glossy, teen-drama energy. Expect hidden identities, tangled family ties, and plenty of flashy fight scenes. Yes, it can be cheesy, but that actually helps it walk the same line KPop Demon Hunters does between playful and genuinely dark. Fair warning: the series does not fully wrap up its larger story. If you get hooked, Clare's book series is massive and ready to keep you going.

Lucifer (Netflix)
If the Rumi-and-Jinu romance is your main thing, Lucifer is a strong bet. The setup is different — this time the secret identity is the literal devil — but the appeal tracks. His redemption arc scratches a similar itch to Jinu's, it just takes its time getting there. The push-pull with Chloe comes with sharp banter and, yes, a bittersweet payoff that mirrors the emotional swing of KPop Demon Hunters. It is a police procedural at heart and the characters skew older, so the tone shifts, but it is still a slick supernatural binge.
Got a live-action pick you swear by for KPop Demon Hunters fans? Drop it in the comments — I am always looking for more gap-fillers while we wait for part two.
