The Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences has confirmed a new multi-year global broadcast partnership with YouTube starting in 2029, while the next three Oscars ceremonies will remain on Disney ABC until 2028.

Until then, Disney ABC will continue to air the next three ceremonies, with their final broadcast coinciding with the Oscars ’ 100th anniversary in 2028.

In a joint statement, Academy CEO Bill Kramer and President Lynette Howell Taylor expressed their excitement about the collaboration:
“We are thrilled to enter into a multifaceted global partnership with YouTube to be the future home of the Oscars and our year-round Academy programming.”
