Your shortcut to watching 'Buddy,' Cristin Milioti’s dark-comedy slasher movie
Buddy, the creepy Slasher starring Cristin Milioti, is only a few clicks away—if you know where to stream it.
On the cheery kids’ show It ’s Buddy, a bright-orange mascot coaxes children to play by his rules — until anyone breaks them. In Buddy, that smiley TV world curdles fast: a child vanishes, the set’s make-believe turns predatory, and the kids trapped inside Buddy’s realm race for a rumored safe zone called Diamond City. Cristin Milioti plays Grace, a woman who becomes fixated on the program and gets drawn into its warped logic.
Who’s in it
- Keegan-Michael Key — voice of Buddy, the mascot
- Cristin Milioti — Grace
- Topher Grace — Grace’s husband
Directed by Casper Kelly, the movie mixes slasher mayhem with dark-comedy bite. It first screened at the Sundance Film Festival.
Kelly said he and Key worked to give the deceptively sunny mascot a voice that can snap from gentle to menacing in a breath.
“[Key] can do so many voices. He was great in giving me a lot of options of very nice or one a little bit irritated, one a lot irritated, so in the edit, we had a lot of flexibility,” he told People.
Release plans
August 28, 2026 is opening day for Buddy, and it will be in theaters only at first. There’s no digital or streaming date announced yet.
