Your 2026 guide to watching Heath Ledger’s teen rom-com 10 Things I Hate About You
Trying to stream 10 Things I Hate About You—here’s the simplest way to watch it online.
If the bleachers serenade is already looping in your head, there’s a reason. While competing on Dancing With the Stars, Julia Stiles revisited that unforgettable 10 Things I Hate About You moment, performing “Can’t Take My Eyes Off You” with partner Ezra Sosa as members of the movie ’s cast reunited on the show to honor Heath Ledger . The number was a direct nod to Ledger’s Patrick Verona belting Frankie Valli from the stands while Kat Stratford tried to focus on soccer practice.
Back on the big screen, the teen rom-com first hit theaters in 1999, marked the feature directing debut of Gil Junger, and went on to earn $53.5 million worldwide. Led by Stiles and Ledger, the film helped launch a stacked young ensemble that included Joseph Gordon-Levitt and Gabrielle Union, and it ’s only grown into a cult favorite over the years.
The story tracks Cameron, a new kid who falls hard for Bianca, only to run into her dad’s house rule: no dates for Bianca until older sister Kat dates. Cameron hatches a plan to pay the school’s resident bad boy, Patrick, to woo Kat — a setup that spirals into sharp-tongued banter, teen chaos, and that now-iconic bleachers serenade.
“I said, if we had to have someone with us on stage representing Heath’s legacy or the film, I said it had to be the whole cast. I begged them, each and every one of them, and they all rallied,” she told Variety.
Stiles also told Variety rehearsals for the tribute were unexpectedly heavy, with the song — and hearing both her voice and Ledger’s — stirring old memories. The moment landed exactly where she hoped: as a shared remembrance for fans of the film and of Ledger.
