You Season 5: Release Date, Plot & Everything We Know

The obsessive stalker is set to return to the small screen for the very last time.
In April, the fifth and final season of You will premiere on Netflix. Here's what we know about the final chapter of Joe Goldberg's story.
What Is You About?
You, based on the books by Caroline Kepnes, tells the story of obsessive bookstore employee Joe Goldberg. He is a stalker who, in a state of obsession, removes all obstacles on the way to his goal.
Joe lives the same cycle: fascinated by a new victim, he gathers information about her in order to adapt to her personality. When he loses interest, Goldberg eliminates women in the same way he was eliminating obstacles on the way to them.
With each season, the character tries to start a new life without violence and manipulation, but over time returns to old habits. In the fourth season of the show, Joe's inner struggle leads him to a psychotic breakdown, after which he comes to a semblance of inner harmony.
You Season 5 Creators
Michael Foley and Justin W. Lo will serve as showrunners for the fifth season of You. In addition to Foley and W. Lo, writers for the final season include Hillary Benefiel, Kelli Breslin and Neil Reynolds.
Greg Berlanti and Sarah Schechter executive produce the fifth season. Sera Gamble, who has been with You since the beginning, will executive produce the fifth season.
Gamble said that Penn Badgley handles fame very gracefully and that he had to learn that long before the first season of the psychological thriller premiered, back in the days of Gossip Girl, where Badgley played Dan Humphrey.
You Season 5 New Cast
Joe Goldberg likes to cover his tracks and start over, so his entourage (and therefore the cast of the project) often changes.
In the fifth season of the show, the cast of the series will be joined by Natasha Benham, Pete Ploszek and Tom Francis.
What Will Season 5 Be About?
The official synopsis for season five says that Joe Goldberg returns to New York to enjoy his quiet life. But soon he is threatened by the ghosts of the past.
As before, the main character will try to start a new life, but given that the fifth season is the final one, it can be assumed that this time Joe will not be able to avoid responsibility for his crimes.
You Season 5 Release Date
The series will be released on Netflix on April 24.
