Yellowstone Star Hassie Harrison Wants Ryan Bingham to Trade the Ranch for a Baywatch Cameo
Yellowstone favorite Hassie Harrison is ready to make waves on Baywatch — and she’s already eyeing a splashy cameo for husband Ryan Bingham, hinting at a rescue scene with her on lifeguard duty. Fresh off the Fox Upfronts, the 36-year-old says she can’t wait for fans to dive into her new role.
Fox is reviving Baywatch, and the new crew is already plotting splashy cameos. Yellowstone star Hassie Harrison is suiting up, and yes, she has a very specific person she wants to rescue on camera: her husband, Ryan Bingham.
'I would love to save a drowning Ryan Bingham.'
The cameo wish list
At the Fox Upfronts on Monday, May 11, Harrison, 36, joked that Bingham is a legit surfer, so why not make it happen. Her costar Shay Mitchell is thinking reunion too, floating Tyler Blackburn for a Pretty Little Liars nod. It fits: this new Baywatch is being built with the door wide open for splash-ins from familiar faces, including franchise alums.
What this version is tapping into
The original Baywatch ran from 1989 to 2001, first on California beaches and later in Hawaii, tossing its lifeguards into everything from earthquakes and shark attacks to, yes, serial killers. In the 90s it was, at one point, the most-watched TV series in the world. That run turned it into a pop phenomenon and launched or boosted a ton of names: Nicole Eggert, Carmen Electra, David Hasselhoff, Billy Warlock, Alexandra Paul, David Chokachi, Jeremy Jackson, Traci Bingham, and Erika Eleniak among them.
Training for the red suits
Landing the reboot came with real lifeguard training. Harrison says it is the most physically demanding role she has taken on, and the mental grind is real too. Some days she has to work at keeping her self-talk positive, but she is genuinely grateful to have been chosen and wants to give it everything. She also knows the legacy is massive — in her words, Baywatch is as iconic as the Hollywood sign — and she hopes the new team lives up to it.
Who is on the beach this time
- Hassie Harrison, Shay Mitchell, Stephen Amell, Jessica Belkin, Thaddeus LaGrone, Noah Beck, Brooks Nader, and Livvy Dunne
One confirmed legacy return: David Chokachi will reprise his original role as Cody Madison in Fox's new take.
Amell wants surprise cameos too
Stephen Amell, 45, is all for OG drop-ins, but he has asked not to be told which ones are coming. His plan: avoid information overload and just discover the surprises in the scripts as they arrive.
Release plan
Fox gave Baywatch a straight-to-series order. The debut season runs 12 episodes and premieres in January 2027.
