Yeezy Season 01 marks another thaw in Kanye West and Kid Cudi's friendship
Yeezy Season 01 just gave Kanye West and Kid Cudi’s friendship a fresh boost—the moment behind it is the part you’ll want to see.
Inside the new Yeezy flagship on Beverly Boulevard, models in stark, monochrome looks circled a bright white mound while unreleased tracks from Ye (formerly Kanye West) rattled the speakers. But midway through the Yeezy Season 01 presentation in Los Angeles on Wednesday night, the room’s hum shifted: Kid Cudi was spotted chatting with Ye after spending time with fellow guests Big Sean and 2 Chainz.
Clips of the two standing together spread within minutes, boosted by fan accounts like @yzyupdates. The sighting landed like a confirmation that their detente isn’t a one-off; it ’s ongoing, and it just played out in front of a very loud fashion crowd.
Ye’s first full runway show since Season 9 in Paris in 2022.
The Chicago reset
The face-to-face in L.A. comes two months after a bigger reunion: on September 4, 2026 , Cudi joined Ye onstage at Soldier Field during the second of two sold-out homecoming shows in Chicago. They ran through three songs — including “Ghost Town” and Cudi’s “Pursuit of Happiness ” — their first shared stage since Coachella 2019.
Not long after, Cudi spoke about that Chicago moment on his podcast Big Bro With Kid Cudi, saying the experience hit him hard emotionally and left him feeling overwhelming gratitude.
Back in Beverly Hills, the Season 01 runway doubled as a reset for the brand too: minimal silhouettes, a circular walking pattern around a sculpted hill instead of a straight runway, and a soundtrack that sounded packed with Ye snippets fans hadn’t heard before. The show also streamed live on Kick.
