Why does Seth Rogen fear dying with too much money?
Seth Rogen gets candid about a morbid money fear you wouldn’t expect to hear from a rich guy.
On a new episode of Armchair Expert with Dax Shepard, Seth Rogen got unusually candid about what actually scares him about wealth: leaving too much of it behind. He framed it in the most Rogen way possible — with a joke and a pinch of anxiety.
“I don’t have children, and I’m afraid I’m going to die and be like, I could have had a place at the beach,”
Rogen didn’t stop there, spelling out the number that nags him and the reason why.
“I don’t want to die with like $10,000,000 in the bank that I could have spent doing fun, alive things.”
He added that part of the point of having money, for him, is the freedom to do things on a whim — like hop a flight to Paris just because, no special occasion required.
At TIFF together
The money talk came as Rogen and his wife, Lauren Miller Rogen, were enjoying a busy week at the 2026 Toronto International Film Festival (TIFF), where both had premieres. He lit up when asked what it’s like to share the moment with his partner.
“It’s so nice. It’s just amazing when the people you love, you get to work with them and you’re proud of them and you’re amazed at what they do."
- Babies — directed by Lauren Miller Rogen, with Rogen starring alongside Anna Kendrick.
- Tangles — an animated film featuring Rogen’s voice work.
Both projects premiered at the 2026 Toronto International Film Festival.
