Off Campus star Mika Abdalla, who plays Allie Hayes, is engaged to Jake Short—four years after they met in 2021—with Short’s manager Brian Medavoy confirming the news.

Off Campus star Mika Abdalla just made it official with Jake Short. Yes, that Jake Short. The two quietly went from costars to couple to engaged, and now we actually have confirmation.

The engagement (and who said it out loud)

Abdalla, who plays Allie Hayes in the hit Off Campus series, is engaged to Short. The news didn't arrive via a coordinated magazine rollout — it came from Short's longtime manager, Brian Medavoy, who posted a congratulations on Instagram in 2025.

"An awesome day yesterday celebrating the next chapter for my longtime client, Jake Short and his fiance Mika Abdalla. From set to real life – watching your journey has been a joy. Here's to forever."

How they met

Short and Abdalla first crossed paths in 2021 while filming Hulu 's Sex Appeal. On screen, they played best friends running an intimacy experiment; off screen, the spark apparently stuck. It's a very "that escalated nicely" timeline, in the best way.

So who is Jake Short again?

  • The credits you probably know: Disney Channel/Disney XD era mainstay — A.N.T. Farm (as Fletcher Quimby), Mighty Med, and Lab Rats: Elite Force.
  • Early start: In a 2011 interview, he said he'd been acting for about four years at that point. He started in Indiana, then made the jump to Los Angeles, lined up a manager and an agent, and kept it moving.
  • The orange blimp: He won the 2012 Kids' Choice Award for Favorite TV Actor for A.N.T. Farm, then got nominated again in 2014 — Ross Lynch took it that year.
  • Now directing, too: In March 2026, Short said he directed his first short film, starring Bradley Steven Perry (yes, that Bradley Steven Perry). He announced festival screenings on April 14 and 15 — one in his home city at BHFF and one close to his hometown at CIFF — and said he'd be at both. He told fans to grab tickets via the link in his bio, and added that he learned a lot making it and wants to keep creating with friends.
  • The podcast: In 2025, Short and Bradley Steven Perry launched "The Sit and Chat," where two former child actors talk with other creatives about how they got their start and the breaks that pushed them forward. The most recent episode dropped in January 2025 with guest Olivia Holt.

Bottom line: They met on a set in 2021, the relationship went the distance, and by 2025 they were engaged — with the manager accidentally playing town crier. Congrats to Mika and Jake. And if you grew up on A.N.T. Farm or Mighty Med, this all feels like a very full-circle crossover in real life.
