Charleston gossip has legs, and this week it sprinted straight into Bravo crossovers. On the Wednesday, April 22 episode of Southern Hospitality, newcomer Justin Assad (29) confirmed what the internet has been whispering for weeks: he and Southern Charm season 11 addition Charley Manley (28) are officially a thing — and the show finally rolled the footage of where it kicked off.

How they met (and why the first date did not end)

The episode was shot just a few days after Justin and Charley met in person for the first time. Before that? It started the modern way: a DM slide. They grabbed drinks that weekend, sparks flew, and Justin admits he pulled a harmless little stunt about being locked out of his place to keep the night going. The plan worked, and by his account, they have barely spent time apart since.

The episode: Emo birthday, instant chemistry

Charley made her Southern Hospitality debut at Joe Bradley's Emo birthday bash — the party for when Joe (30) turned the big 3-0 — and she was there with fellow Southern Charm castmate Salley Carson. On camera, Justin could not stop grinning when she walked in, and Charley made it clear she was there for him, not the eyeliner and nostalgia playlist. Later, he told her how refreshing her company felt; she reminded him they had known each other for roughly two days. He laughed it off and even joked he might start leaning into those 'love-bomber' whispers people keep throwing around.

The messy timeline (because of course there is one)

• Spring–summer 2025: While Southern Charm season 11 was filming, Charley had a short-lived thing with Craig Conover (37). At the reunion, she pushed back on the idea she was love-bombing him.
• August 2025: Joe's 30th birthday party (the Emo night) takes place — the same event we see on Southern Hospitality. Justin says the episode was filmed just days after he and Charley met in person, and they were already clicking at the party.
• Fall 2025: Craig claims Austen Kroll (38) pulled him aside in Vegas and told him he had met the guy Charley was seeing; according to Craig, Austen said Charley brought the man to a bar and declared she was in love. Charley denies ever telling Craig she was not talking to anyone.
• March 19: Joe told Us Weekly he had heard whispers that Justin and Charley were dating but played coy about details.
• Later in March: At the Southern Charm season 11 reunion, Charley confirmed she was seeing Justin but did not put a start date on it.
• Mid-March: Justin and Charley start posting full-on couple photos, which tracks with what we see on the show now.

Where things stand now

On TV, we are watching day-two butterflies and a very flirty Emo party. Off TV, the timeline has filled in: the meet-cute started in DMs, the first weekend date turned into a sleepover, and the two have been acting very couple-y on Instagram since mid-March. The reunion dust-up with Craig is still Craig's word vs. Charley's, but the footage finally shows when the Justin–Charley spark actually hit.
