Where Dance Moms lives now
Dance Moms: A New Era premiered on Hulu in August 2024 as a reboot of the Lifetime original, produced by A+E Factual Studios for Hulu and Lifetime. There's a brand-new coach at the center: Glo Hampton, running an elite competition team out of Studio Bleu in Ashburn, Virginia, with a fresh roster of dancers and a fresh set of moms. Season 1 followed the classic formula — weekly pyramid-style pressure, solos on the line, parents at war in the viewing room.
Then season 2 blew the whole setup apart.
What changed in season 2
The new season dropped all at once on December 8, 2025, on Hulu and Hulu on Disney+ — and almost nothing carried over intact:
- The studio is gone — Studio Bleu suddenly closed, leaving Glo scrambling to rebuild from scratch.
- The team has a new name — the rebuilt squad competes as Project X.
- A second coach joins — Glo's daughter Kaeli steps up to coach alongside her, adding a whole new family dynamic.
- New blood arrives — a new mom and dancer join the team, and one mom's personal struggle sends shockwaves through the studio.

Is Abby Lee Miller involved?
No. The original Dance Moms launched on Lifetime in July 2011 and ran eight seasons, turning Abby Lee Miller's ALDC into a pop-culture institution and launching Maddie Ziegler and JoJo Siwa. Miller isn't part of A New Era — the reboot was built around Glo Hampton and her team from day one.
Will there be a season 3?
Nothing has been announced as of August 2026. Both seasons of A New Era are streaming in full on Hulu and Hulu on Disney+ in the US, so the whole reboot is a quick catch-up.
