The do-or-die game against Texas turns into a nightmare the second the ball is snapped: Chad Powers is throwing ducks, firing straight to defenders, and getting booed off the field. It isn’t a slump. A few hours earlier, Gerry summoned Chad to an empty theater, handed over a note loaded with betting slips and specific “don’ts” that would tank the Catfish’s game plan, and made his terms clear. He doesn’t care who’s under the wig and prosthetics; his revenge is aimed squarely at the persona that stole his spotlight.

That note lands after Gerry finally puts together the last piece he’s been clawing toward all season: Chad Powers is a mask. The real man underneath — Russ Holliday — is the one who “took everything” from him. After threatening the person Chad loves most earlier this season, Gerry swerved the misdirect and went after Danny instead, beating him bloody and getting close to the secret Danny was hiding in his basement. By kickoff, Gerry has Chad boxed into a lose-ugly ultimatum.

At halftime, Ricky clocks what’s really happening. She spots Danny in the stands, corners him, and calls it: she’s watched every Russ Holliday tape — this isn’t an off night, it’s intentional. Then the ref’s flag nukes the loopholes. A late penalty wipes the trickery off the table; the Catfish have to punch in a straight-ahead touchdown that will require Chad to violate Gerry’s demands. He does it. He goes for the win. The stadium erupts.
