Wednesday returns much sooner than last time—and it’s packing fresh blood, with Winona Ryder, Eva Green, Chris Sarandon, and more joining season 3.

Wednesday is not wasting time. Season 3 is already rolling cameras, the wait should be a lot shorter than the gap between seasons 1 and 2, and Netflix just added three more guest stars to an already stacked lineup. One of them is a certain queen of Westeros.

"Every nightmare needs new faces. Lena Headey, Andrew McCarthy, and James Lance will guest star in Wednesday Season 3."

The new trio

Netflix announced on April 9, 2026 that Lena Headey, Andrew McCarthy, and James Lance are joining Wednesday season 3 as guest stars. No character details yet, which is very on-brand for this show, but Headey showing up after ruling Game of Thrones as Cersei Lannister is a delicious bit of casting chaos. Headey has also been busy in animation lately, voicing roles in Masters of the Universe: Revolution, Rise of the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, and The Dark Crystal: Age of Resistance. McCarthy is coming off work tied to Orange is the New Black and The Blacklist, and Lance has credits in Marie Antoinette and Bronson.

The bigger season 3 picture

Wednesday is clearly loading up on familiar faces for its return, and the roster now looks like this:

  • Lena Headey (Game of Thrones; Masters of the Universe: Revolution; Rise of the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles; The Dark Crystal: Age of Resistance) – guest star
  • Andrew McCarthy (Orange is the New Black; The Blacklist) – guest star
  • James Lance (Marie Antoinette; Bronson) – guest star
  • Winona Ryder (reuniting with Tim Burton after the original Beetlejuice, and also in Beetlejuice Beetlejuice) – season 3 addition
  • Eva Green (Dark Shadows; Miss Peregrine's Home for Peculiar Children) – season 3 addition
  • Chris Sarandon (The Nightmare Before Christmas ) – season 3 addition
  • Noah Taylor (Charlie and the Chocolate Factory) – season 3 addition
  • Kennedy Moyer (Roofman ) – season 3 addition
  • Oscar Morgan (A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms ) – another face tied to the Game of Thrones world – season 3 addition

The Burton loop, closed

The Ryder news ties a neat bow on the Tim Burton web. She was there from the start with the original Beetlejuice, she is back for Beetlejuice Beetlejuice, Jenna Ortega joined that movie too, and Ortega and Burton already built Wednesday together. So yes, the crossover energy is strong, and that is exactly why fans clocked Ryder's casting as a full-circle move.

When to expect it

Season 3 is in production now, which is why the timeline looks friendlier this round. If all goes smoothly, a late-2026 debut is in play. Until then, Wednesday seasons 1 and 2 are streaming on Netflix, which gives you plenty of time to rewatch those Rave'N dance moves and get your theories ready for whatever storm Headey is about to bring to Nevermore.
