Security guard Pascal Duvier apologized for his role in Chappell Roan’s viral run-in with an 11-year-old fan, taking full responsibility for the March 21 hotel encounter and stressing he was on-site for another client, not her personal security.

Short version: the security guard who sparked that viral Chappell Roan hotel-breakfast dustup in Brazil has apologized — and no, he was not on her payroll.

What actually happened (and when)

  • March 21, 2026: At a hotel in Brazil where Chappell Roan and others were staying, security guard Pascal Duvier intervened during an encounter involving an 11-year-old girl and her mother. The child is soccer player Jorginho's stepdaughter — Ada, whom his wife Catherine Harding had with Jude Law in 2015.
  • Earlier in March: Jorginho publicly claimed his stepdaughter was harassed by Roan's team for trying to approach the singer at breakfast.
  • March 22: Roan pushed back, saying no fan tried to approach her and that she was just quietly eating breakfast.
  • March 26: Duvier posted an apology on Instagram. He said he was at the hotel working for someone else, not Roan, and that his actions were not done on behalf of Roan, her personal security, her management, or anyone else on her side. He said he made a judgment call based on info from the hotel, things he had seen in the days before, and the overall heightened security risk at the location. He added that his only interaction was with the mother, that he kept it calm and meant well, and that he regrets how it ended up.
"I take full responsibility for the interactions on March 21st."

Roan's side

Roan says this whole thing never touched her table. In her words (paraphrased): nobody bothered her, she was just sitting at breakfast, and it is not OK for security to assume bad intentions when there has been no action to justify it. That is not something she supports.

The security-world wrinkle

This is the part that confused everyone: Duvier has never worked for Chappell Roan. He was at the hotel on behalf of a different person and decided to step in. He later clarified he acted independently when Jude Law's daughter allegedly tried to approach the 'Hot to Go' singer. So you had a pop star, a Premier League player, Jude Law's kid, and a veteran celebrity bodyguard — all colliding over a hotel buffet. 2026 in a nutshell.

Who is Pascal Duvier, anyway?

Duvier is a longtime protection specialist and security officer with a deep celebrity resume. Back in 2021, he posted a throwback to the Mothership Tour in Mexico from December 2012, shouting out Zedd and Skrillex and hoping that 2021 would treat the entertainment industry better than 2020 did under Covid.

Over the years, he has worked with Fergie, Kanye West, Kim Kardashian, and Charlie Puth, among others. His full client list is not public, but his Instagram is followed by a grab bag of boldfaced names including Sofia Richie Grainge, Noah Kahan, Nicole Scherzinger, Adam Levine, Martin Garrix, Miguel, and Bar Refaeli.

He is big on martial arts — specifically judo. In a 2018 post, he said the best martial art is the one you stick with, and that judo taught him self-discipline, ethics, manners, benevolence, and fairness. He also calls himself heptalingual (seven languages) and notes that he is married, though he keeps details about his spouse private.

Bottom line

Duvier says he made the call, not Chappell Roan or her team. Roan says nobody approached her at all. And the dad in the middle of it is Jorginho, whose stepdaughter — again, Jude Law's daughter — was the kid at the center. Messy situation, clear takeaway: the guard is owning it, and Roan is distancing herself from it.
