Two more seasons for The Graham Norton Show as BBC America rides Taylor Swift Effect
BBC America is doubling down on The Graham Norton Show—and you can probably guess which superstar’s current gravitational pull has the timing looking awfully convenient.
The couch moment that’s still ricocheting around stan Twitter didn’t stop at the studio doors. After her Season 33 sit-down with Graham Norton, Taylor Swift echoed the exact setup in a later music video, sparking a wave of “wait, which came first?” posts and fresh eyeballs on the show in the U.S. That viral boomerang is a big part of why BBC America has ordered two more seasons as Season 34 arrives next week.
The Swift factor
Swift’s episode paired her with a murderers’ row of guests. The couch looked like this:

When Swift later released a video that reunited the same group, some fans assumed the clip had been shot before the show taped. According to Variety, Graham Norton knocked that theory down — the talk show came first, the video followed — and he dismissed the idea that the twin moments were a coordinated promo stunt.
“The Swifties know the show because she’s been on multiple times. They’re not going to ignore a show that she’s on, so they all knew who I was.”
Beyond the viral crossover, viewership for The Graham Norton Show climbed across its U.S. homes. Variety noted that Acorn TV’s audience for the series rose year over year, while AMC+ more than doubled its streaming numbers compared with the prior season.
The new two-season order keeps Norton’s red couch on BBC America through at least Season 35. Season 34 kicks off next week on BBC America, with new episodes available to stream in the U.S. on AMC+ and Acorn TV.
