‘Things get sad’: Tom Hardy shuts down ‘MobLand’ co-star Helen Mirren feud rumor
Tom Hardy has weighed in on the rumored feud with his MobLand co-star Helen Mirren — offering a crystal-clear answer.
In a new promo chat with Entertainment Tonight, Tom Hardy finally spoke directly to the rumor mill surrounding MobLand and his relationship with co-star Helen Mirren —and he didn’t mince words about where they stand.
"Helen's my friend. There is literally nothing to say because if you do say something, it becomes a story which it wasn't even in the first place,"
Hardy went further, saying he chose to keep quiet while speculation swirled because feeding it would only make things worse.
"The best thing is to just say nothing and just carry on... there's no salacious, prurient attached to it, it's just, sometimes these things get sad,"
Talk of a feud popped up in late May 2026 amid reports of creative friction and scheduling headaches during production of the Paramount+ crime drama. Tabloid and industry whispers suggested a clash of working styles and even floated that Hardy had been pushed out—claims never confirmed as he appeared throughout Season 2.
Publicly, the cast projected the opposite of tension. Hardy, Mirren and Pierce Brosnan reunited at the Season 2 world premiere in London, trading hugs on the carpet and brushing off the chatter with smiles.
What’s next
Season 3 of MobLand was greenlit ahead of the Season 2 launch, and Hardy will continue as part of the show’s central trio, per Deadline. He’s set to return as Harry Da Souza when the series comes back on Paramount+.
