A sitcom about dinosaurs and a wild space opera.

We reminisced about the unusual and now forgotten TV shows we watched as children. It's time to get nostalgic and revisit those shows!

1. Dinosaurs, 1991-1994

The plot centers on the ordinary Sinclair family. Father Earl goes to work while mother Fran raises three children. The characters love watching TV and complaining about their boss.

Their youngest child is still in a stroller but sarcastically comments on everything that happens. There's just one catch: all of the characters are dinosaurs who live in the year 60,000,000 BC.

Traditional sitcoms usually parody real-life events. Dinosaurs is a parody of sitcoms themselves and, at the same time, an unusual rethinking of everyday life.

2. Lexx, 1996-2002

Four strange characters meet on the planet Cluster: There's Stanley Tweedle, a heretic who was made a guard; Zev, who was condemned to become a love slave; Kai, a warrior who is simultaneously dead and alive; and a robot head.

Together, they steal the spaceship Lexx, a huge living creature and the most destructive weapon.

Lexx, in its structure, is reminiscent of traditional TV series about space travel, such as Star Trek and Firefly. However, every component here is strange. Lexx itself is not a mechanism but a giant dragonfly capable of destroying planets yet afraid of space spiders.

3. The 10th Kingdom, 2000

Virginia, a waitress, dreams of opening her own restaurant, but so far, she barely has enough money to live on. Her father, Tony, takes on any job he can find.

One day, they meet a magical retriever who turns out to be an enchanted prince and end up in a fairy-tale world. Now, Virginia and Tony must help the dog restore justice.

In the 21st century, films and TV series often mix classic fairy tale plots with modern times. However, back in 2000, screenwriter Simon Moore of The Tenth Kingdom showed a similar funny plot.

4. The Secret World of Alex Mack, 1994-1998

Alex Mack is a schoolgirl who lives with her parents and sister in a small town where many adults work at the Paradise Valley Chemical plant.

One day, Alex nearly gets hit by a truck from the company. An experimental chemical spills on her, giving her amazing abilities. Now, she can create electricity and turn into liquid, but this ability sometimes gets in the way.

This funny series combines typical teenage comedy with superheroics, playfully exploring the theme of unusual abilities.
