Sweat-free on Dune: Part Three? Robert Pattinson says it was 'physically impossible'

Under layers of facial prosthetics and latex, Robert Pattinson says he had to will his body not to do the most basic thing in a desert: sweat. In a clip shared by Variety on Instagram, the actor recalls shooting in searing heat where holding back perspiration became part of the performance — and where, he says, the ground was hot enough to make shoes start to soften.

“You can't sweat because it ruins makeup, and I'm like, 'Okay, Ahh, this is physically impossible!'”

Pattinson, who joins Denis Villeneuve ’s saga in Dune: Part Three, added that the team mapped the shoot around the weather. Filming began in July at Origo Studios in Budapest to keep early scenes on climate-controlled stages, then moved outdoors to the Liwa Desert in Abu Dhabi and Wadi Rum in Jordan later in the fall to dodge the peak summer blast.

• The preview also introduces Edric, a mutated Guild Navigator suspended in a tank, steering a broader collapse from the shadows.
