After catching heat from Summer House fans over her NBC Upfronts comment, Lindsay Hubbard fired back, arguing she can be Team Ciara and still talk to Amanda Batula.

Summer House is doing what Summer House does: blurring friendships, flings, and feelings in a way that makes a simple catch-up sound like a plot twist. Lindsay Hubbard says she can be firmly Team Ciara and still sit down with Amanda Batula to talk things out — and she is not backing off that stance.

What Lindsay actually said

Earlier this week at the NBC Upfronts, Lindsay, 39, told Gabbing With Gib host Gibson Johns that she and Amanda, 34, were trying to line up a face-to-face. According to Lindsay, Amanda had already texted and they were working on a time to meet. The point, as Lindsay framed it: respect the history of the friendship and have the conversation.

"Two things can be true at once: 1) I am unequivocally team Ciara and 2) I can also have a chat."

When a fan came at her for even considering a conversation with Amanda, Lindsay clapped back that nobody knows what the chat is about — so what exactly is the problem?

Why this is messy (and why everyone cares)

Here is the knot: Amanda is currently estranged from her husband and castmate Kyle Cooke. West Wilson, 31, is Amanda's situationship of the moment — and he also happens to be the ex-boyfriend of Amanda's best friend, Ciara Miller. So, yes, there are loyalty landmines everywhere.

The vibe among the cast right now seems warmer toward Amanda than toward West as more context about their connection filters out.

Amanda and West finally said it out loud

After weeks of will-they-won't-they guessing, Amanda and West put out a joint statement in March confirming their relationship had evolved. They called it very new, said they were not trying to hide anything, and explained they wanted a little space to process privately because, you know, reality TV scrutiny and complicated dynamics.

Where Lindsay stands with them right now

Despite floating the meetup with Amanda, Lindsay is not currently talking to either Amanda or West. A source told Us Weekly earlier this month that West did reach out after the reunion filmed in late April. Lindsay confirmed on Monday that they still have not spoken. The same source said she does not plan to talk to West and is undecided on Amanda.

As for Amanda specifically, Lindsay is still upset about how Amanda handled things with Kyle and about lying to Ciara, but she is not sure if that feeling is permanent. Translation: door cracked, not open.

What to watch for next

The season 10 finale airs on Bravo Tuesday, May 19, at 8 p.m. ET. The reunion lands later this month, and that is where the fuller story about Amanda and West is expected to come out — including the on-camera fallout that already had Lindsay 'activated' and clashing with West during filming.
