On the Emmys red carpet, David Harbour gave the first real look at his next team‑up with Millie Bobby Brown: an untitled Netflix action thriller he described as following a disgraced FBI agent turned security expert who’s dragged back into the field when his estranged daughter — a 20‑something FBI agent played by Brown — goes missing on a mission, per his chat with Variety.
From Hawkins to high stakes
Harbour said the new story intentionally ages up their Stranger Things dynamic. Instead of the push‑pull of a gruff dad raising a rebellious teen, this one tackles a father navigating adulthood with a daughter who has her own career, baggage and danger attached.
“We do have this father-daughter dynamic that I think we play very well.”
He told Variety that their Hawkins years let them work through the messy teenage phase; this time, the relationship moves into more complicated territory as both characters face grown‑up problems — and federal‑level stakes.
Harbour also shared with E! News that the team already has two scripts in hand. The project is being written by Jack Thorne, whom Harbour praised for blending emotional depth with big, wild action.
