"We are saddened by the passing of a beloved member of our Storage Wars family, Darrell 'The Gambler' Sheets. Our thoughts are with his family and loved ones during this difficult time."
The Storage Wars run
Sheets was one of the franchise ’s defining faces, appearing in 163 episodes between 2010 and 2023. He made his name betting big at storage auctions and backing it up with a loud, can’t-miss persona. If you watched even a little, you probably heard his catchphrase: "This is the WOW factor!"
Quick refresher if you never tuned in: Storage Wars follows bidders as they buy abandoned lockers without seeing everything inside. After the dust settles, the value of the haul decides who came out on top that episode. It’s a simple premise built entirely on personalities like Darrell’s.
Health and later years
After a mild heart attack in 2019, Sheets pulled back from the show. He popped up occasionally but ultimately exited in 2023. He later moved to Lake Havasu and opened an antiques shop with a very Darrell name: Havasu Show Me Your Junk.

The Darrell mythology
The official show bio described him as addicted to the high of storage auctions and always chasing the big hit rather than the steady grind. In classic Darrell fashion, the bio also touted past scores like four Picassos and the world’s most lucrative comic book collection. Whether you took those stories at face value or with a wink, that over-the-top bravado was part of why he stood out on TV.
Family
Darrell is survived by his son, Brandon Sheets, who appeared on Storage Wars from 2010 to 2016. Darrell was previously married to Kimber Wuerfel; they divorced in 2016. He was reportedly not married at the time of his death.
