Sigourney Weaver shares that she will narrate Avatar 4, marking a pivotal change in the franchise as the story shifts focus to her character Kiri. Weaver also reveals she learned about this new role back in 2013, when the sequels were first being planned.

For three films, audiences have experienced the world of Pandora through the eyes and voice of Jake Sully, played by Sam Worthington. But the next chapter in the blockbuster series is set to introduce a fresh perspective, as a new narrator steps in to guide viewers through the story.

Weaver Steps Into the Spotlight

Sigourney Weaver, who portrays the gifted Na'vi teenager Kiri, recently revealed a major development for the upcoming installment.

"I narrate the next one, Avatar 4,"

she shared in an interview with Jake's Takes.

"It 's a major part of the saga for Kiri."

This marks a significant shift in the narrative, placing Kiri at the center of the unfolding events.

Weaver also disclosed that she was first informed about this change more than a decade ago. Back in 2013, as the sequels were just beginning to take shape, she learned that her character would eventually become the voice of the story. This early heads-up gave her plenty of time to prepare for the expanded role.

Big Changes Ahead for the Franchise

The next two films in the series are expected to bring about a dramatic transformation. Weaver described the upcoming movies as a

"big shift,"

hinting at new directions and deeper exploration of Kiri's journey. With the focus moving away from Jake Sully, fans can anticipate a fresh narrative style and new emotional stakes.

Avatar 4 is currently scheduled to premiere in theaters on December 21, 2029. However, there has been ongoing speculation about whether James Cameron will continue to direct the final two sequels. Some believe he may take a step back, but Cameron himself has addressed these rumors.

Cameron's Commitment to the Saga

When asked about his future involvement, Cameron responded,

"I mean, there's no reason not to. I'm healthy, I'm good to go,"

but he also acknowledged the challenges ahead.

"I'm not going to rule it out. I mean, I've got to make it in a vigorous way, to handle the kind of volume and energy of the work for another six or seven years. You know what I mean? I might not be able to do that."

While nothing is set in stone, Cameron's passion for the franchise remains clear.
