Sherlock & Daughter and 3 Other Best Series About the Most Famous Detective

Detective is one of the most popular genres of literature and cinema, the main star of which is still the brilliant detective Sherlock Holmes.
Eccentricity, deduction, charisma – all this is an integral part of the image of the character of the works of Arthur Conan Doyle, who inspired filmmakers to make many adaptations.
1. Sherlock & Daughter, 2025-...
In 1896, Holmes is investigating the attempted kidnapping of a child. He discovers a red thread on the boy's hand: the same one the detective had received a few weeks earlier along with a maid's severed finger.
His nemesis Moriarty has kidnapped Dr. Watson and Mrs. Halligan (Mrs. Hudson in the original story), threatening to kill them if they interfere. Also causing problems is the new maid, Amelia Rojas, who poses as the detective's daughter and wants to find her mother's killer.
2. Elementary, 2012-2019
Present day, due to drug abuse, Sherlock Holmes leaves London and goes to rehab in New York. After completing his treatment, he decides to stay in Brooklyn as a consulting detective for the police.
To keep Sherlock from breaking down, his father assigns him a curator, Joan Watson. Together they go to the scene of the crime: a psychiatrist has reported a break-in and the disappearance of his wife.
The detective introduces Joan to Thomas Gregson, a friend and captain of the police. Thus begins their collaboration.
3. Sherlock, 2010-2017
The most popular series about the adventures of Sherlock Holmes and Dr. Watson by Steven Moffat and Mark Gatiss, the writers of Doctor Who.
The action takes place in the present day. Former military doctor John Watson returns to London from Afghanistan to try to get his life back on track. He meets an old university friend who helps him find a flatmate: it turns out to be detective Sherlock Holmes.
A consulting detective at Scotland Yard invites John to a crime scene, drawing him into a whirlwind of crazy events.
4. The Adventures of Sherlock Holmes, 1984-1985
The famous London detective Sherlock Holmes and his friend Dr. Watson have lived and worked in an apartment on Baker Street for many years, investigating murders, kidnappings and robberies.
Unexpectedly, the talented detective receives a message from the King of Bohemia. The monarch instructs the man to find his photograph with opera star Irene Adler. It is not just a matter of reputation, but of national honor.
Jeremy Brett portrayed a tough, cold and as close as possible to the book image of Sherlock with all his eccentricities and contradictions. Each episode is an adaptation of a story from the classic Victorian era.
