Sebastian Stan’s Possible Role as Two-Face in The Batman Sequel
Rumors swirl around Sebastian Stan’s potential casting as Harvey Dent in The Batman - Part II, after a social media post from his stylist sparked speculation. The film is set to start production in spring 2026, with a theatrical release planned for October 2027.
Speculation is running high after whispers emerged that Sebastian Stan could be stepping into the shoes of Harvey Dent in the next chapter of Matt Reeves’ Gotham saga. The buzz began on January 6, 2026, when word got out that Stan was in discussions to join the cast of The Batman - Part II. While the studio and director have kept details under wraps, some insiders suggest Stan is being eyed for the role of the infamous district attorney, Harvey Dent, also known as Two-Face.
Fueling the rumors, Stan’s stylist, Michael Fisher, may have inadvertently dropped a major hint. Fisher shared an Instagram story featuring fan art of Stan as Two-Face, which quickly caught the attention of fans online. Not long after, another image surfaced showing Stan in the iconic role, both of which were swiftly deleted from Fisher’s account. Despite the online frenzy, neither Warner Bros., Matt Reeves, nor Stan’s representatives have issued any statements regarding the casting.
Social Media Sparks Casting Theories
Although Fisher’s posts set the internet abuzz, they don’t serve as official confirmation of Stan’s involvement as Harvey Dent. It ’s possible the stylist was simply joining in on the speculation that’s been circulating since Stan’s name was first linked to the project. Still, the idea of Stan taking on the role isn’t far-fetched, especially considering Gotham’s need for a new district attorney after the events of the previous film, where The Riddler eliminated Gil Coulson.
If Stan does land the part, he’ll join a select group of actors who have portrayed Harvey Dent in live-action films. Billy Dee Williams first played the character in Batman, followed by Tommy Lee Jones as Two-Face in Batman Forever. Aaron Eckhart delivered a memorable performance in The Dark Knight, and more recently, Harry Lawtey appeared as a pre-scarred Dent in Joker: Folie à Deux, with the film hinting at his transformation.
Potential for New Storylines
The possibility of Stan joining the cast has also led to speculation about other characters. Some fans believe Scarlett Johansson could be cast as Gilda Dent, Harvey’s wife, a character with a significant role in the comic Batman: The Long Halloween. That storyline has influenced several Batman adaptations, including Batman Begins, The Dark Knight, and The Batman.
While nothing has been confirmed, anticipation continues to build as production for The Batman - Part II is scheduled to kick off in spring 2026. The film is slated to hit theaters in October 2027, and fans are eager to see which rumors will become reality as more information comes to light.
