Scott Wolf went on a podcast and actually talked about the stuff most people in Hollywood duck: how you prep your kids when your family drama turns into a headline. It has been a rough year-plus for him and ex Kelley Wolf, and now he is explaining how they handled it at home while the rest of us were reading about it.
What he said on the mic
On Jana Kramer’s 'Whine Down' episode that dropped Wednesday, April 22, Scott, 57, said he tries to get ahead of whatever his kids might see online or hear at school. He did not rehash every detail, but he was clear it has been a brutal stretch that became very public.
'I have the conversation before, whether it’s something they read or someone at school comes up and it’s like, I read this.'
He called it the first time their personal life drew that kind of attention and admitted it felt awful knowing his kids would have to deal with it. At the same time, he said the priority was what was happening inside their house, not the noise outside.
The human part that does not make the tabloids
Here is the part you do not always hear: he says the local community showed up. Instead of whispers at the grocery store, it felt like support. Even at the kids’ schools, classmates were kind. In his view, kids today see so much that they are more empathetic than we were, and that made a hard situation a little less punishing for his three: Jackson, 16, Miller, 12, and Lucy, 11.
How we got here
- June 2025: After 21 years of marriage, Scott announced he had filed for divorce from Kelley, 49, and asked for privacy while they focused on their kids.
- In the months that followed: A court granted Scott temporary sole custody after Kelley was placed on an involuntary psychiatric hold.
- About two months later: Kelley was arrested on suspicion of electronic communication harassment and electronic disclosure of personal identifying information after allegedly posting confrontational content about Scott on social media.
- Scott obtained a restraining order amid the fallout; that order was later dropped.
- February 20, 2026: The exes reunited to take their kids to Universal Studios, posting together on Instagram: '2/20/2026. Healing. 💙💙💙💙💙 Thank you @unistudios for an epic day at the park! So much fun! 🙏🏻💛'
Where things stand now
Scott is not pretending any of this was easy or tidy. But he is grateful their circle basically gave the family a hug instead of a side-eye, and he is realistic that his kids will keep bumping into headlines about their parents. His plan is to keep talking with them before the rumor mill does, and keep the focus on the only part they can control: what is happening at home.
Also, if you mostly know Scott as the 'Party of Five' alum, same. This was the first time his personal life, not his work, took center stage. He did not ask for it, but he is handling it like a dad who knows the audience that matters lives under his roof.
