Quentin Tarantino is considering animated adaptations of his unmade projects, including a Kill Bill prequel and a Vega Brothers movie, after debuting a lost Kill Bill chapter in Fortnite. Discover what’s next for these iconic stories.

After the long-lost Kill Bill segment, Yuki's Revenge, made its debut through Fortnite, Quentin Tarantino has opened up about his interest in using animation to revisit some of his shelved ideas. During a Q&A session at the Los Angeles premiere of Yuki's Revenge, Tarantino explained how animation could help bring to life stories that never made it to the big screen.

"I could see some world between [Unreal Engine] and Japanese anime that I could find some happy medium. Or, you know, between the things that I couldn’t physically do, like, say, the Vega Brothers movie, or something like that,"

he shared.

The Vega Brothers project, which never got off the ground, would have united John Travolta’s Vincent Vega from Pulp Fiction and Michael Madsen’s Vic Vega from Reservoir Dogs. The story was set to be a prequel, following the brothers as they reconnect in Amsterdam. Animation, Tarantino suggests, could finally make this crossover possible, sidestepping the challenges of casting and aging actors.

Exploring the Kill Bill Universe

Tarantino isn’t stopping with the Vega Brothers. He’s also considering new stories set in the world of Kill Bill.

"I have a whole Kill Bill idea in my mind but I was wiped out,"

he admitted.

"I like the idea of a Bill origin. And the three godfathers that made Bill: Esteban Vihaio, Pai Mei, and Hattori Hanzo. Will I live long enough to do that? That remains to be seen."

These potential prequels would dive into the backstories of the characters who shaped Bill, offering fans a deeper look at the legendary assassin’s roots.

Kill Bill’s Enduring Legacy

Kill Bill, starring Uma Thurman as the Bride, follows her relentless pursuit of vengeance against the Deadly Viper Assassination Squad and their leader, Bill, after they attempt to murder her and her unborn child. The cast features Lucy Liu, Daryl Hannah, Vivica A. Fox, Michael Madsen, and David Carradine, each bringing unforgettable characters to life.

Originally released in two volumes in 2003 and 2004, the saga is returning to theaters as a single, four-hour epic titled The Whole Bloody Affair. Fans can catch this special event on December 5, when the complete story hits the big screen once again.

What’s Next for Tarantino’s Worlds?

With animation opening new doors, Tarantino’s vision for his unmade stories could finally become reality. As he explores these creative possibilities, audiences can look forward to fresh takes on classic characters and untold tales from his cinematic universe. For those eager for more, there’s plenty to anticipate in the world of movies coming in 2025 and beyond.
