Prime Video Taps Ryan Hurst as Kratos for God of War Series
Ryan Hurst, the voice of Thor in God of War: Ragnarok, will play Kratos in Prime Video's upcoming adaptation. The series will follow Kratos and Atreus on their emotional journey, but a release date has yet to be announced.
Prime Video has officially chosen Ryan Hurst to take on the role of Kratos in its highly anticipated God of War streaming series. Hurst, who brought Thor to life in the 2022 video game God of War: Ragnarok, is no stranger to the franchise ’s devoted fanbase. Beyond his work in gaming, Hurst is recognized for his performances as Gerry Bertier in Remember the Titans and as Harry 'Opie' Winston in Sons of Anarchy, where he appeared for five seasons.
The God of War franchise, which began in 2005, has expanded to include ten titles across consoles, browsers, and mobile platforms. Over the years, Kratos has become a legendary figure in gaming, known for his relentless drive and the gripping stories that define each installment. His journey from a Spartan warrior to a god has captivated players for nearly two decades.
