Prime Video slams toxic fandom after Off Campus cast face harassment
Prime Video hits back with a warning after targeted harassment of the Off Campus cast.
Fandom is great until it turns into a pile-on. Prime Video just drew a line with Off Campus, telling fans to knock off the harassment and leave the cast alone.
Prime Video steps in
The official Off Campus accounts posted a warning on June 11, 2026, asking fans to respect the actors and the people around them. They also said they will block accounts that target cast members with abuse. The note was pushed across the show's social channels.
"We ask that everyone in this space extend that respect to our cast and the people in their lives. Accounts that engage in targeted harassment will be removed from following our accounts."
Studios rarely speak this bluntly unless things have gotten out of hand, but this does seem to be happening more lately. The team behind The Summer I Turned Pretty previously had to ask people to stop showing up at filming locations and disrupting production.
Why this flared up now
The timing lines up with fans digging into the personal lives of the cast. Mika Abdalla, who played Allie Hayes in Season 1 and is returning as a lead next season, recently split from Jake Short. Then an old podcast clip resurfaced where Short jokingly called Abdalla "some b****," which sent rumor machines into overdrive. The two later did a joint interview with Us Weekly and said the speculation was inaccurate and harmful. Translation: the clip lacked context, and the internet ran wild with it. Hence Prime Video stepping in to tell fans to cool it.
Season 2: what actually matters
- Season 2 was greenlit before Season 1 even premiered; Season 1 finished its run on May 13, 2026.
- Filming on Season 2 started June 1, 2026, in Vancouver and is scheduled to run through September 18, 2026.
- There is no official release date yet. Based on the schedule, expect a premiere in mid to late 2027.
- Season 2 adapts The Score, book three in Elle Kennedy's hockey romance series, centering on Dean Di Laurentis and Allie Hayes.
- Mika Abdalla is back as Allie. The show's accounts even teased the Dean/Allie focus with a promo push on June 11 that lit up timelines.
- Controversy or not, interest in the next chapter is high.
Bottom line: be excited, be loud, ship whoever you want. Just do it without harassing the people making the thing you love.
