Prime Video may be stacked with The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power, Fallout, and Invincible, but its best fantasy series just made its comeback—and it’s streaming now.

Prime Video has a stacked fantasy lineup right now — Rings of Power, Fallout, Invincible — and yet the show I keep coming back to is The Legend of Vox Machina. Good news: it is finally back in the spotlight. The season 4 trailer just dropped, and the new episodes hit June 3 on Prime Video.

The trailer: big danger, bigger attitude

The new footage wastes zero time making the threat feel lethal. Classic Vox Machina move: stare down the apocalypse, crack a grin, and charge anyway. The tone is bloody, chaotic, and stylish — exactly what this show does best.

"It is time to f*** s*** up."

That bit from Keyleth is the trailer’s mic drop, and the tag at the end reveals a fan-favorite arrival: Taryon Darrington making his animated debut this season. The official account rolled the trailer out on April 23, locking in that June 3 premiere.

Who is back (and who is new)

  • Laura Bailey as Vex
  • Travis Willingham as Grog
  • Ashley Johnson as Pike
  • Liam O'Brien as Vax
  • Taliesin Jaffe as Percy
  • Marisha Ray as Keyleth
  • Sam Riegel as Scanlan
  • Matthew Mercer in multiple roles

Season 4 also brings in Taryon Darrington. Here is the fun inside-detail for campaign watchers: in the original Critical Role game, Sam Riegel played Taryon at the table. In the show, Taryon is voiced by Wayne Brady. If the adaptation follows the campaign beats, expect Taryon to show up acting like a monster-slaying pro, only for the facade to crack and reveal a true adventuring rookie. From there, he slowly figures it out — first kill and all — while unpacking his very complicated dad situation that pushed him into adventuring in the first place. There is also a soul stones gag later in the arc that, if they include it, is going to be one of the season’s standout comedy bits.

Where season 4 picks up

We jump forward about a year after season 3. The gang is staring down an ancient evil that just woke up and has a very clear to-do list: wipe out the realm. Stakes, escalated.

The longer game

The show is already renewed for a fifth season, and that will be the last one — season 5 is planned to wrap the story. Separate but related, Critical Role’s other animated series, The Mighty Nein, has its second season in development, so the universe is not slowing down anytime soon.

When and where to watch

The Legend of Vox Machina season 4 premieres June 3, 2026, only on Prime Video. Trailer’s out now, and yes, the party is very much ready to break things.
