Post-'Supergirl' plans for DCU actress Milly Alcock: every confirmed project
After Supergirl, Milly Alcock’s lineup is stacked—think a superhero gig, a new horror project, and more TV in the pipeline.
Production on Man of Tomorrow is rolling through Atlanta, Cincinnati and the U.K., and Milly Alcock is back in the cape. She’ll reprise Kara Zor‑El as James Gunn ’s new Superman chapter teams David Corenswet’s Clark Kent with Nicholas Hoult’s Lex Luthor to face Brainiac — played here by Lars Eidinger — a twisty alliance baked into the film ’s plot.
Man of Tomorrow is set to hit theaters July 9, 2027.
Written and directed by James Gunn, the movie brings back Rachel Brosnahan as Lois Lane and folds Alcock’s Supergirl deeper into the DC plan that kicked off with her big-screen debut. Filming is underway now.
- David Corenswet — Superman/Clark Kent
- Rachel Brosnahan — Lois Lane
- Nicholas Hoult — Lex Luthor
- Lars Eidinger — Brainiac
- Milly Alcock — Supergirl/Kara Zor‑El

Comedy switch-up
Next, Alcock veers into comedy with Thumb, an ensemble feature that’s keeping its plot under wraps but has already lined up a stacked cast. No release date yet, but the lineup alone is a swing in a totally different tone from her superhero work.
- Awkwafina
- Sofía Vergara
- Kate McKinnon
- Stavros Halkias
- Michael Zegen
- Hannibal Buress
- Milly Alcock
Indie detour
Alcock is also attached to Hot Mother , an independent feature written and directed by filmmaker Lucy Knox. The project is in early development with no announced cast, plot details or release window yet.
Into Miike territory
On the horror front, she’ll appear in an untitled Takashi Miike supernatural film expected in 2027, produced by and starring Charli XCX. Set in Kyoto, the story follows three lifelong friends whose reunion curdles into terror when one of them is possessed by a vengeful spirit.
- Charli XCX — star/producer
- Norman Reedus
- Sho Kasamatsu
- Kiko Mizuhara
- Milly Alcock
The screenplay comes from Ross Evans and Yumiko Aoyagi, and principal photography is already underway in Japan. It ’s expected to arrive in 2027.
