Paramount+ greenlights more ‘Tulsa King’ as season 5 shifts to New York
Paramount+ is renewing Tulsa King, but the new season uproots Sylvester Stallone’s Dwight Manfredi from Tulsa—and you’ll want to see where he’s headed.
Cameras are already rolling in New York as Tulsa King locks in Season 5—and this time, the story moves with them. After planting Dwight Manfredi in Oklahoma for its first run of seasons, the Paramount+ drama will shift its action to the city that shaped him, bringing the ex–New York mob capo back onto home turf.
The New York pivot dovetails with Dwight’s identity as a Mafia lifer who’s been rebuilding far from his old stomping grounds. Behind the scenes, the series is relocating too: production has begun in New York after previously shooting in Atlanta.
Paramount+ picked up the new season ahead of the upcoming Season 4, keeping Sylvester Stallone’s late-career TV turn humming along as the show’s audience follows Dwight’s bid to expand his empire.
- Scarlet Rose Stallone — promoted to series regular (she plays Spencer)
- Erik Palladino — joining as a series regular
- Glenn Fleshler — joining as a series regular
- Anthony Skordi — joining as a series regular
- Nickola Shreli — joining as a series regular
New York officials are already touting the shoot.
“We’re excited to welcome the cast and crew of Tulsa King to New York State for its fifth season.”
That welcome came from Hope Knight, CEO and commissioner of the state’s economic development agency, Empire State Development.
Stallone’s busy fall
The timing lines up with Stallone revisiting his own origin story on the big screen. I Play Rocky, directed by Peter Farrelly and starring Anthony Ippolito as a young Stallone fighting to make and star in Rocky, premiered at the Toronto International Film Festival and is slated for a November theatrical release.
At a 92NY event tied to his memoir The Steps, Stallone joked that seeing his life dramatized felt a bit early—he wondered if it was “jumping the gun” because he was “not dead yet.” He’s also said Ippolito’s performance was so convincing he briefly thought he was looking at old footage of himself.
Season 4 of Tulsa King premieres October 16 on Paramount+.
