Nothing to Lose brings French-Belgian intrigue to Netflix—here’s the cast, plot, release date, trailer, and the key details at a glance.

Netflix quietly sat on a French-Belgian tearjerker for months, then lobbed the first trailer out of nowhere. The film is called Nothing To Lose (French title: Jusqu'au bout), and yes, it looks like a tough sit in the best way.

Release: surprise trailer now, global drop next month

Netflix unveiled the first official trailer and the release date on June 10, 2026, after keeping the project almost entirely under wraps. The movie hits Netflix worldwide on July 8, 2026.

What it is

Co-directed by Belgian comedian-filmmaker Nawell Madani and French director Ludovic Colbeau-Justin, Nothing To Lose follows Jade (played by Madani), who spends years trying to become a mom and finally does via embryo donation with her partner (Guillaume Gouix). Her long-awaited calm does not last: circumstances leave her raising her newborn son alone, and then she learns he has a rare, aggressive form of leukemia. From there, it becomes a race to find a compatible bone marrow donor before time runs out.

Madani posted the trailer the same day Netflix did, laying out the premise and making it clear this is about grit as much as grief.

'Through the character of Jade, I wanted to tell the story of a mother facing the unthinkable. A woman who refuses to give up even as everything seems compromised. A story of love, courage, and hope that I carried with all my heart. I can't wait to share it with you all.'

Why this story

Madani has talked about her own long, difficult path to parenthood before welcoming her daughter in 2021, which gives her a painfully clear handle on the fear and vulnerability baked into this kind of story. She shares the directing credit with Colbeau-Justin, an experienced French filmmaker who previously teamed with her on her 2017 directorial debut, Stand Up, Girl! This one is aiming for grounded, emotionally direct drama rather than melodrama.

Early chatter is already circling the film for its authenticity and emotional punch after that first look. Bottom line: if you measure dramas by the number of tissues you go through, circle July 8.
