Erin Foster turns up the heat with tantalizing hints as Nobody Wants This season 3 nears release.

Season 3 of Netflix 's 'Nobody Wants This' is on the way later this year, and the big shift is pretty simple: the show is done with the will-they/won't-they chaos. Creator Erin Foster says the Noah/Joanne rollercoaster that peaked in Season 2 is officially parked.

Goodbye breakup whiplash

Last season (which dropped in October 2025 ) put Noah and Joanne through the wringer, split them up, and then pulled them back together by the finale. Foster says the point of Season 3 is not to blow them up again, but to actually see them function.

"It doesn't sound s*** but that is the foundation of a good relationship. So now that that's established and there's no more breaking up, there's no more like running to each other, now it's like, OK let's move forward and see what that looks like."

She wants a more grounded romance this time: fewer grand gestures, more day-to-day growth. Adam Brody (Noah) is into it too, calling this next stretch potentially one of the show's best because the characters finally understand each other. Translation: new hurdles, new phase, not just the same breakup makeup loop.

LA mattered more than you think

At a Season 2 panel on May 23, 2026, the team said Kristen Bell pushed to film in Los Angeles so she could stay close to family. Production listened, the show planted itself in LA, and you can feel it on screen. Bonus: shooting there apparently made it easier to license music and land celebrity guests, which tracks with how Season 2 suddenly got flashier on those fronts.

Foster was originally set to play Joanne, then bailed on acting to focus on running the show. During the writers room in 2025, a new character named Nicole took shape — 'terminally single' and proudly chaotic — and Foster ended up deciding she should just do it herself.

"This character was written in the writer's room — nothing to do with me — and when I was like impersonating what I think she should be like, it became kind of clear, OK, I guess I should be playing Nicole."

Guest stars they want, and when to expect it

Foster has Adam Sandler at the top of her guest-star wish list. Brody threw out Barbra Streisand, which is a swing I respect. Whether those names pop up in Season 3 or later is TBD. The renewal became official on November 4, 2025, and Season 3 is expected to hit later this year.

  • Renewed on November 4, 2025; Season 2 premiered October 2025
  • Season 3 focuses on Noah and Joanne building a real relationship — no more breakups
  • Adam Brody says this could be one of the strongest seasons because the leads finally get each other
  • Season 2 filmed in LA after Kristen Bell pushed for it; helped with music and celeb cameos
  • Creator Erin Foster joins the cast in Season 3 as Nicole, a terminally single, chaotic agent of fun
  • Foster was once slated to play Joanne but stepped back; during the 2025 writers room, she circled back to act as Nicole
  • Guest-star wish list includes Adam Sandler (Foster) and Barbra Streisand (Brody)
  • Season 3 is expected later in 2026 on Netflix

If the big swings of Season 2 pulled you in, curious how you'll feel about a drama- light, grow-the-relationship Season 3. Into it? Or do you miss the chaos already?
