No Zack, no DC return: Gal Gadot lays down her lone condition
Gal Gadot isn’t closing the door on the DC Universe — she’ll walk through it only if one specific director walks in first.
Asked point-blank in a new JoBlo Celebrity Access interview whether she’d put the armor back on if Zack Snyder were brought in to make Justice League 2 and 3, Gal Gadot didn’t hedge or stall.
“If Zack [Snyder] comes back to run DC , I’ll come back,” she said.
That answer hits differently coming from Gadot. Snyder didn’t just direct her; he helped shape her take on Diana Prince from the ground up, with the first Wonder Woman film carrying a story credit for Snyder alongside Allan Heinberg and Jason Fuchs.
The Snyder connection
Snyder stepped away from Justice League in 2017 after a family tragedy, with Joss Whedon overseeing the version that reached theaters. Years later, fans got the four-hour redo as Zack Snyder’s Justice League in 2021, one of the rare cases where a filmmaker’s alternate cut became a full-on release.
Gadot’s stance is still a hypothetical. There’s no indication Snyder is returning to run DC, and the current regime under James Gunn and Peter Safran has been building a new continuity rather than reviving the old one. Gadot has previously said the way her exit — and Henry Cavill’s — was handled wasn’t especially elegant, which only adds intrigue to her very specific caveat.
What she’s doing now
Gadot is out promoting The Runner, a new action- thriller for Prime Video directed by Kevin Macdonald. She plays a London defense attorney whose routine morning jog turns into a race against the clock after her son is abducted — a grounded, panic-on-the-pavement shift from Diana’s mythic battles.
The shoot demanded punishing running sequences and training; Gadot was injured badly enough that she finished production on crutches. For now, that’s where her screen time is headed — with one very notable DC-sized asterisk attached.
